BTW, recent work has shown there was a massive flood about 8,000 years ago when the Bosforus straight which feeds the Black sea was overwhelmed by the Med due to the end of the last ice age raising the sea level enough to flood the 2 mile wide channel leading to the Black sea. People were around then in large numbers and they would have surely THOUGHT there was a world wide flood and that is probably where the world wide flood myth got started.
Also, the REAL world wide flood may still happen but not as the result of rainfall, but as the result of mankind's stupidity by increasing the CO2 so high ALL the ice on Earth melts. Even a 5 foot increase in the level of the oceans will rewrite the maps of the world, Florida as an island, NYC gone, for instance. All put down to the stupidity of mankind where short term greed beats long term survival.
