OP Addendum: At the moment of regeneration [spiritual birth] God the Holy Spirit imputes a human spirit which enables the believer in Christ to understand, assimilate and apply the absolute truths revealed in the Word of God, which He has provided as food and nourishment for infants as they mature in the life of grace.
“Like newborn babies, thirst for the pure milk of the word so that by it you may grow in your salvation." (1Peter 2:2)
What happens when Christians lose a sense of priority and/or become influenced by truths mixed with error and false teachings? Growth is stunted and human viewpoint replaces divine viewpoint:
"I gave you milk, not solid food, for you were not yet ready for it. Indeed, you are still not ready." (Hebrews 5:12)
"In fact, though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you the elementary truths of God's word all over again. You need milk, not solid food!" (Hebrews 5:12) Perpetual infants become confused about their spiritual status; whether or not they were saved in the first place; emotionally conflicted; and unable to firmly grasp the fact that their eternal security as Members of Christ's Royal Family depends upon God's Integrity.
One of God's Divine Attributes is Immutability [which means the Divine Integrity of His Justice and Righteousness provides an ironclad guarantee that every one of His promises will be kept].
"Anyone who lives on milk, being still an infant, is not acquainted with the teaching about righteousness." (Hebrews 5:13) The sole priority for
all believers in Christ:
"But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ." (2 Peter 3:18).
For your own and for your family's sake, please memorize (2 Peter 3:18) and make good daily decisions from a position of strength.
