@bigdoggproblem saidTrue. But in the end they can all miss out on life because of their chosen actions. Right? Would you not consider these two along with other sins the bible describes, unrighteous and a sin in God's eyes?
I thought it was because they were rapists. There is a minor difference between that behavior and a homosexual relationship between consenting adults. Just a slight one.
This is where many humans decide on their own that an action such as homosexuality is nothing compared to say being a thief. And most conclude it's a harmless life style compared to being a thief which does have victims.
But........ what does God say in the end? He disapproves of one just as he does the other.
These are not my words but God's. If one does not care in what he tells us to do or not do, it's their choice.
But they have to understand not all want to have that life style around because of their wanting to remain faithful to their God.
@eladar saidThat was Israel, several millennia ago.
In Leviticus God instructs the nation of Israel to execute both men if caught in a homosexual relationship.
Read some of the other instructions and tell me how many of them today's Christians are following.
@mister-moggy saidWhen there are said to be 40,000 Christian denominations, there's certainly "subjectivity" that is in play. Jesus was a Jew and did not "create" any of them. Your own feelings or theories about Jesus notwithstanding, I don't see anything factually incorrect about what I said. chaney3 asked how come some churches think it's 'ok to be gay'.
@FMF
"believing in jesus" does not end the covenants.
jesus upheld the covenants and the scriptures.
jesus did not create a "subjective personal church".
@galveston75 saidWell, I'm an atheist, so I don't think there are any "God's eyes" to consider.

However, as a Spiritual truth-seeker, I would exercise a bit more caution making sweeping pronouncements straight out of modern English Bibles, if I were you.
For example - are you sure that the typical homosexuality practiced in Moses' time [which would be the kind probably condemned by Leviticus], or in Paul's time [which would be the kind he railed against in the book of Romans] was the same as today's?
I say this because I have read that in NT times, "homosexuality" was sometimes [often, in some cultures] the practice of an older man taking on a young boy as a sexual consort. Again, much like the Sodom and Gomorrah example, this behavior is a far cry from a relationship between consenting adults.
The other thing to consider is that Bible says all people are sinners. So, even if you are correct that there is a God who considers even modern consensual homosexuality a sin, nobody else has a leg up on them as far as being free of sinning. That, too, ought to give a sober truth-seeker pause.
@suzianne saidOh, so the topic has changed now? Lol.
Do you believe we, as a nation, should criminalize people who sin?
Jesus did not.
Yet there are a lot of Christians who say yes.
Hypocrites, all of them.
Being homosexual should be punished, and yet, cheating on your wife or embezzling from work or defrauding people out of their life savings is perfectly okay.
This is called hypocrisy.
Yiu can't argue that it is not a sin so you create a straw man.
@wolfgang59 saidFunny.
Why do the kids call your car the fatmobile then?
Too bad they do not. But coming from a loser like yourself, I can see why you would say that.
