What would you say to a homosexual in order to persuade him to be a heterosexual? What would you say to someone in order to try to change their sexual orientation?
Oh, geez, here is the big assumption, FMF: that we have some unsophisticated approach that would involve just being able to say something to someone that would result in a profound change in them.

Moreover, you assume that we think the possible change is universal.

When you ask questions like this, we can't help but take it as shallow and disrespectful, and not a legitimate attempt at dialogue.

You are still missing the point with Adam and Eve. They choose to sin. It was not an inherited flaw or the type of sins that Jesus is covering for us all. So they were as perfect as Jehovah could create. It was their decision to sin.
Wow dude, are you seriously blaming that on Jehovah as it really sounds like that's what you are doing. If you are you better pray to him and hope he will listen to you. How foolish of you....
You are an a$$.

At first absolutely nothing. Whatever we are their to discuss is what the will discuss if they are interested. No different then at your door.
Hopefully if they are interested we will set a time with them to come back at another time to either consider what we may have discussed or answer any questions that they may have thought of from our first visit.
If the interest continues we are more then happy to come back and visit other times to discuss the bible.
So now what you ask? One of two things will eventually happen. Either thru their own research into the bible that they possibly have never owned one or never opened it, they may come across the subject of homosexuality themselves and want to discuss that with us or once we see that are really wanting to know the bible and all it contains and maybe want to get more involved with visiting one of our meetings, which is great, then at an appropriate time we would want to discuss the bible view on this subject which they may not even be aware of.
Now what you ask? It will be totally up to them. If they see God's viewpoint and his seriousness of it they may decide to get their life style in line with Jehovah's standards and make the changes he requires.
If they finally tell us they are not going to make those changes we will be sad because of the time we've possibly spent with them in studying with them but we would have to explain why and then discontinue our bible study with them but if they ever change their minds we would be glad to revisit them.
Does this help?

Ok then, what MIGHT you say to someone in order to try to change their sexual orientation from homosexual to heterosexual? If you could not do it by talking to them, what else might you try?

So, trying to turn a homosexual into a heterosexual would involve explaining to them that they are homosexuals because of "Satan"?

If they see God's viewpoint and his seriousness of it they may decide to get their life style in line with Jehovah's standards and make the changes he requires.

The Bible is widely open to interpretation. As such when you say things like "God's viewpoint" and "Jehovah's standards" what you are really saying is "MY interpretation of God's viewpoint" and "MY interpretation of Jehovah's standards".

How is it not hubris on your part to not acknowledge this?

Really? Are you serious? If you don't know the moral differences between humans and animals then I have no idea how to continue with what I think is a pretty clear cut subject.
But let me hear your version so maybe I can figure your opinions out.
I guess if animals behave according to their "God-given" nature, logic follows that god wants a part of his creation to murder, cannibalize, and have homosexual sex.
Why do you think god wants them to do all those things ? Do you think he likes to watch ?

When we die God will decide who was following their own beliefs and who was following God's.

So you are incorrect about all, just about may. Since you ate part of the many I can see why you would believe everyone is like you.

Maybe their orientation cannot change at all. That is a possibility. And I'd never speculate on that.

I'd only try to convince them Christ loves them, and that Christ treats all equally before Him, and to be a Christian.

And once someone is a Christian, I would give advice only and pray for them, and just try to help them with whatever sexual struggles they might want to share. I imagine it'd be so different for people and I've never been in that position.

First we don't not try to make anyone do anything. When the opportunity happens and without offending anyone we would let them see for themselves God's viewpoint from the bible. If they decide to change their life style that would be done by them and with the help needed from Jehovah by their prayers to him. If they are truly wanting to change Jehovah will help them immensely.
The mention of Satan would never come up unless they ask about his influence on the earth and how that has affected many to make decisions that are not acceptable by God.
Do you understand any of this?

Can you rephrase this and/or explain what it had to do with what I wrote to G75?

Good stuff. We have no idea what can lead one to choose that life style. That is why we can't judge them. I'm sure it is an extremely hard thing to deal with and can be very confusing and frustrating especially if one does know God's viewpoints on this. It could even be terrifying I'd guess.
But one has to realize that Jehovah has seen it all and more that we could ever imagine that's happened to humans since the beginning with Satan's evil influence as well as our genetics that may push us in directions we do not even want.
But this is where asking God for help and trusting that he will comes in. There is nothing he can't do to help. But one has to stick to serving him humbly and listening to him even in the hardest time one can face.
I brother in my Kingdom Hall that I knew for years was one that could not hide his physical actions that he was one who would have normally lived a homosexual life style. Just very feminine acting to say. He was not attracted to women at all but from about age 30 when he started studying the Bible and learned God's view he never perused a male relationship even even up to the day he died around 80. He never once gave in because of loneliness or frustrations or wanting a relationship. And there are thousands of JW's that deal with this everyday of their life's. But they know no temp relationship with a human will compare with one with Jehovah. And Jehovah has blessed then with an 8 million sized family.

You'll have to ask him that yourself. While you're doing that ask him why my dog eats his own poop? If my dog does that it's OK for you to do that too??????????
