Humm. No I'd say I posted this to help ones who do have doubts in their faith and in the bible, to get to the point of this post.
Satan has manged to derail so many on this planet not just with false teachings but with nothing more then the seed of doubt in their hearts when it comes to their worship of God and in trusting in the Bible that he gave us. ...[text shortened]... mans philosophies and looking for answers there.
Yeah I'd say that's why I posted it..... 🙂
Yes, I know what you think it says ... it's not like your meaning wasn't obvious ... I just don't agree that the sentiments in your post are about Christian vs. not, because I view a "Christian" differently than you do.

You were never involved in the discussion of that report, you weren't posting here. That's why I asked if you were aware of it and/or had read it. Please don't 'yawn' at the discussion of rape and sexual abuse of children within JW congregations, you're better than that.

So again, have you heard of the report and have you read it?

Nope. No human is perfect and because of that many in all churches, schools, work places, in family settings, government officials, etc, etc, etc, have done things that are terrible.
It seems to me that every time you guys try and bring these things up, as if we are perfect or something, all your doing is making my faith stronger in my association with ...[text shortened]... ing your possessions or killing you in a war, are about as unlikely as humanly possible.........
yes indeed Gman, ask them to say something positive about the thousands of persons we have taught to read and write, the thousands of persons we have freed from abject poverty, drug abuse, prostitution, the congregations of deaf persons and literature for the blind, free Bible literature available in over 700 languages freely distributed to the entire planet. Palestinians and Israelis who are united in worship under our banner of peace, former IRA members, gangsters that have changed their entire way of life and values due to the application of our Biblical teachings, ask them about those and look they are absolutely bereft of both substance and reason.

Personally I don't waste my time with these detractors anymore. Brother Russel very aptly summed up it, 'one does not stop to kick every dog that barks at us', another excellent piece of advice!

galveston75 said "...many churches have done so many things wrong that it brings down the faith of their followers". What would you say to a Christian who was doubting his faith as a result of the terrible, well-documented scandals in the Catholic church of which he or she was a member? Would you understand if their faith was undermined in that way?

I understand what you are driving at here, but I respectfully disagree. Christ himself does not reside in a believer. Christ sits on the right hand of God's throne. The phrase means God's "gift" of holy spirit" resides in the believer.
God is Holy Spirit. God is holy and God is spirit. So Holy Spirit is just another name for God. If the writers were not biased, they would have inserted capital letters when the text refers to God, and lower case when the text refers to God's gift. His gift is holy spirit. When a person is born again, he/she receives God's gift of holy spirit. This gift permeates the believer fully. Every cell of my body is filled with holy spirit. It is not God nor Christ, it is his gift to us. This gift is subject to us. I can manifest this spirit when I prophecy, speak in tongues, etc. It has 9 functions.
Because of the trinity theology, man(by influence of the adversary in my opinion) has caused all kinds of confusion in the church, made spirit filled Christians anemic and weak.
I know many people here believe in the doctrine of the Trinity. So be it. I do not care to engage in trying to convince anyone of the errors of this doctrine. I think it is a futile attempt with lots of time wasted for people whose minds are made up.
I consider Trintarians brothers and sisters. I have learned that God works with all kinds of people. As long as a person believes that Jesus is Lord and God has raised him from the dead and that person has a genuine relationship with God and or Jesus, God can work in them.

Only God knows. There is God who is spirit. There is Jesus who has a glorified body and has spirit. There are countless demons and angels who are all spirits. Then there are born again people who each have holy spirit residing in them.
