If two adult people love each other, regardless of their respective genders,
why should they not be able to love each other in whatever way they like?

I don't quite think sodomy, although I don't indulge in it, is a crime against 'society'. How does that act affect society, when it is indulged behind closed doors between two consenting adults, assuming rape isn't coming into this dialogue??!
As for God's participation, also assuming you believe such nonsense, wasn't it words to the effect that 'man is made in God's image'? If so, and they are words from your Holy Book, why would it be a sin to act in a way that is "in His image"?

So it would appear that, with consenting adults, sodomy is against no law (although I have only had a quick glance at google). It also appears to be the case that sodomy was introduced as an unacceptable act in the middle ages, when women were constantly raped and violated, under duress and without consentual indulgence.
