"The teachings of Christ make sense on a virus level. What does your virus do with enemies? It makes enemies into itself. If he hasn't caught it from the first cheek, turn the other cheek. There are few things more difficult than loving your enemies. So anyone who can do it will gain heavy power. Loving an enemy is an inhuman practice, placing the practitioner far above--or far below--the human level." (W.S. Burroughs, Ghost of Chance).

And in recent times the virus of Christianity has evolved into various super viruses which infect victims at a much higher rate.

Only God can save us now!

And your point is? Are Christians viruses? Is "Virus" supposed to entail any emotive baggage?

If Burroughs is correct, Christians are virus vectors.

I love my little virus.

Well...Burroughs' central premise was Word is Virus.

An irony to relish.

A cure? Well, complete isolation of virus vectors until the disease has run its course would be the best.

Like all viruses it is capable of mutating. Perhaps children should be innoculated against it at birth.

I think there's a capitalist virus out there as well.

Strangely enough I had this very conversation with a friend at the weekend, though not related to Burroughs. We decided that marriage was a transmission process, since most children are brought up in the fiath of their parents. In some societies it is unthinkable not to continue the religion of your parents and even in ones that it is not, there is still a certain taboo over having a child out of marriage.

But the idea of family as a bound unit of faith is somewhat more intentive than that which produces our many psychoses.

Christianity is a form of hedonism, even if it means the pleasure they seek is the spiritual security blanket that their ego will exist forever...which, paradoxically enough, they seek by denying themselves basic human desires and emotions. Go figure.

Do you actually believe this (as BDN would say) "unmitigated load of crap", or are you merely acting for the masses?

Actually, yes...although the 'unmitigated load of crap' line would probably come from Ratx.

What part of my statement do you find so incredulous?
