@moonbus saidGood post. 'Griminess' is a good word to describe the life philosophy of many Christians. Strangely you would find no support from the teachings of Christ for people to have this negative world view. All of that is a product of false church teachings designed to keep people living in fear and ignorance.
If you need another life to find meaning, then you are wasting this one.
Suppose God appeared to you, and there was no doubt it was God. Suppose He told you that He had made up His Mind about you and that you would not be given eternal life, neither heaven nor hell; you would die and stay dead and nothing of you would remain. You would vanish. Would you be dejected? Would ...[text shortened]... ring-mentality is to forgive. That is what Jesus taught. You should try it sometime, before you die.

@kellyjay saidExcellent. The light of the world is Christ and his followers. When have you ever spoken of following Christ. Do you even know what following Christ means?
John 8:12
Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”
There are atheists who have promoted the teachings of Christ and supported the keeping of the commandments. You have never once told anyone to follow Christ.
You therefore walk in darkness and this is evident in all your posts
@rajk999 saidDepart from me I never knew you is a sentence Jesus says on the day of judgment, it like another thing that He said if we deny Him before men He will deny us.

I agree that many are going to come and say we did these things in your name, those things are not denied only that He didn’t know them. If you don’t have the Spirit of God in you, you don’t belong to Christ.
Didn’t you say that the savior came and is now gone, so now we have to work?
@kellyjay saidAnother excellent reference, showing again how little you understand Christ. Depart from me is for those who do not do the good works

.. Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not. (Matthew 25:41-43 KJV)
Depart into damnation because
- they did not feed the hungry
- they did not give water to the thristy
- they did not take in strangers
- they did not clothe the naked
etc ...
Q ; When in the 12 yrs you have been here have you ever told people to do these things?
A : NEVER. Not Once!
@rajk999 saidAgreed. It is a grim life for people who believe the real deal starts after death. Life for them is something they grit their teeth to get through and they live on hope that there might be something better later.

Treat everyone you meet, every beggar on the street asking for a dime, as if it were Jesus (in disguise) the day before he is to be crucified, and your life will be full and meaningful. Here and now, regardless what comes later and even if there is no later. I don’t know anyone who calls himself a Christian who actually lives like that.
@moonbus saidChristians cannot even bring themselves to post such 'heresy', far less to actually go and do it. They belittle such actions referring to it as works salvation, and trying to earn eternal life. It must be discouraging for good people to be in a church, and that is why many leave.

@rajk999 saidYou are not taking things in context I gave and I do say and agree good works are part of the Christian walk. Our efforts at being good enough is not what we depend on for salvation but Jesus Christ, to walk worthy of Him because of grace is walking out our faith not neglecting it. If you claim to love the Lord and hate others you are a liar, you can’t say you love God whom you can’t see and hate those He died for who you see. Everyone takes care of those we love.

@rajk999 saidKind Sir, your effusive praise in calling me a 'heretic' is almost embarrassing. ๐

@rajk999 saidI am not here to talk about my good works those are as far as I am concern none of your business just as I also don’t ask you about yours, neither do I assume you do not have any as you do me.
Empty words. Proof that you truly believe that is when you actually post stuff that Jesus said. When I post it you argue against good works.
@kellyjay saidNobody is here to talk about their good works. We are here to discuss the teachings of Christ which lead to eternal life. You promoted the teachings of your church and have never spoken about the good works that Jesus said must be done. .

@rajk999 saidMainly because it is not our good works that saves us, that is Jesus Christ. He is not a Savior that showed up and left so we could then earn our way into God’s Kingdom as you portray Him.
