Yes, you said this before. And as I said, it seems a bit odd that you'd cite it as a logical reason when it doesn't even work on you.

You might ask yourself why you, as an apparent atheist, spend so much time debating with Christians. I mean if I didn’t believe in God, I wouldn’t bother arguing with people who did any more than I would argue with someone who believed pink unicorns exist.
Is it that you don’t believe in God or that you’re actually terrified at the possibility that God exists? Because being terrified by an entity that was so much smarter and more powerful than you would be a natural reaction if you didn’t know the entity’s nature and character, and I could see why you’d want to constantly reinforce in your mind that such an entity did not exist.
Would be so much less stressful and more productive if you simply learned about God; then the terror would go away.

Why spend so much time debating the existence of an entity you don’t believe in? It’s kind of absurd.

I’m not proselytizing...
This isn't proselytizing? Are you sure?

I’d like to start a thread on a new movie called “Hereditary” that’s supposed to be one of the scariest movies in years. I don’t think it comes out until June, though.

Originally posted by @fmfYes, I’m sure. I can tell you’re pretty set in your ways on this question and I was hypothesizing why. I think I nailed it, though some atheists I’ve encountered don’t not believe in God; instead, they hate God. But I don’t get that vibe from you. I think deep down, you acknowledge to yourself that God may exist and it terrifies you. Some of your “disbelief” may have to do with pride (you don’t want to admit that an entity so much smarter and more powerful than you exists,) but I think you’re professed “disbelief” is mostly a coping mechanism borne out of sheer terror.
