Do you know about ice cores RJH? These are dated rather like tree rings - you get a discernible difference between winter and summer snow fall that is preserved as the snow is compressed into ice. You can easily calibrate, proving that the layers are laid down yearly, by the presence of impurities in the cores such as volcanic ash or radioactive part ...[text shortened]... a million years.

I know nothing at all about ice cores. But obviously someones calculations
are way off and I don't believe it is God's. The earth was not even in
existence 75,000 years ago, Sparky.

Do you what the world looks like? The distance from Turkey to Israel is negligible.

The distance from Turkey to the edge of Asia traveling east is even further, it's nearly 7000km!!!! Besides how is that even possible the land mass of the planet is only 30%, the rest is water, if South America was part of Africa it couldn't stretch all the way round the globe and join onto Asia, it's nonsensical.
Originally the water was all around the dry land as I understand it. I am
not a geographical expert so I do not know how the topography of the
land might have been in those days or if the distances between locations
by land were equal to what it is today. So I just believe what the holy
men inspired by God wrote. I know of no proof to the contrary. How
can I be a Christian and not believe in the accuracy of the Holy Bible?

Funny. 😀

P.S. I did not notice Proper Knob's spelling was wrong and repeated the error.

I am not a geographical expert

I think that could be the understatement of the day!!

So your telling me you can't even conjure up a reasonable scenario for how it all happened?

Well, it is reasonable to me but not to you because I am not cluttered
with a lot of extra knowledge. 😏

If there is a god I'm sure he can count. And he, like you, could observe the recovered cores yourselves. They really exist and are not in any way secret. You could both count each layer, one by one, and get the same result. There're no calculations involved to get wrong.

Are you suggesting that all of the people who have studied them are unable to count? Are you suggesting that the layers don't represent yearly snowfall? It's demonstrable. Count back thirty-one layers, find ash with exactly the same profile as that spewed out by Mt St Helens. Count back sixty-six layers, find no more layers with radioactive particles in proportions as those released by atomic bombs. Keep on counting; get to Seven hundred and fifty thousand. It's as simple as that and there just isn't any wriggle-room.

Who's Sparky?

The name "Sparky" was a name I first heard used by robbie carrobie and he
said he doesn't really knows what it means, but applies it to someone he
disagrees with it seems. So I decided to use it to emphasize my point of
disagreement.

P.S. I do not doubt that the people studying ice cores can count, but it
seems to me they could be putting there time to something more
enjoyable.

I imagine the break up of land would have had to have occured in a few thousand years.

Okay. A few more questions -

1. How long ago was the flood in your view?

2. How long did the animals have to make it to their respective continents before the 'drift' began?

3. How long did it take for the South American continent to drift the 2580km it is now from Africa?

4. When did this drift finish?

Much obliged.

imagine that, another subject you know nothing about, add that to the list...

you know nothing about evolution...
you know nothing about your own religion...
