@medullah saidI looked up this post because Suzi had quoted you. I appreciate the info you have provided.
You need to do a bit more research and stop beleiving everything that you see on US television.
The term "Nazi" is an abreviation of "National Socialist" - so there is a bit of a clue there in the expanded name.
Bristish Socialist George Galloway (once seen as being on the left of the British Labour Party) recently made reference to this very point.
Facism is not ...[text shortened]... communist criticising Capitalism as a political system, as in both cases there are economic systems.
In our current circumstances -- and not that I'm an Orwell scholar -- but when I saw "National Socialism" in Suzi's quotation of your post I thought, "Maybe that was more about effective branding than accurate description."
(And maybe that's similar to the point she was trying to make in her own way.)
Advertising and conniving been going on for quite a long while, but I think that in the 20th century advertising really raised its game as a tool of psychological manipulation. You can see it in the advertising textbooks re: which human concerns to play upon, as well as in the self-help books primarily intended for salesmen.
If not for a certain snake dripping poison into his ear, and just to irk Bernie Sanders, maybe Trump might have randomly trotted out "National Socialism" himself -- "We are one nation, and one society" (or whatever).
(I'm living in some fantasy-land where people used to call Obama divisive.)
@medullah saidDemocracy means that every few years we get to select from a strangely winnowed yet curated group of uncommonly ambitious people who are nothing like us, to serve as our representatives and to deny us our will.
The last person that I spoke to that claimed to be "Politcally Awake" insisted that the USA and Britain are true democracies (I bet you do) ????
@Arkturos saidWhat does Christianity have to do with handing out insults. Oh .. maybe you are one of those that go with popular opinion about what Christians are supposed to to.
If you are really a Christian, then why would you hand out insults to others, whether in response or on your own initiative?
Allow me to educate you:
- Christians can carry guns and shoot people who attack them
- Christians can insult people who try to belittle the word of God, following in Jesus's footsteps, who called some people fools, hypocrites, blind, Satan.
- Jesus came to bring division to this world, not peace and love, because Jesus knew that there would be people like you who would promote an evil lifestyle.
@Arkturos saidPretty good.
Sorry if I have already replied along these lines (and especially to such a detailed OP), but if there is such a thing as The Kingdom of God, it always exists, timelessly. Ever has and ever will.
The people who are waiting for it to arrive are the people who have not yet arrived.
How's that? 😉
The model or "Lords" prayer says "Let thy Kingdom Come" suggesting that at the point that Jesus recited it the full effects were not being felt on Earth?
The bolder that comes down from heaven in Daniel 2:44 suggest that the situation was going to change.
Thoughts?
@Suzianne saidDoes it matter to you whether it matters to him?
Does it matter to you how I try to show you the truth?
You'll just blow it off with the same "that's what they want you to think" you've already exposed us to.
This ain't my first time to this rodeo. I've dealt with this kind of ignorant fan base before.
Neither of us is convincing the other, because I see your ignorance for what it is, and because you are allergic to the truth.
So I'll leave you to your fantasyland.
@Rajk999 saidYou seem to write in a self-proud way; however, I will offer this:

In the Jewish and subsequent Catholic traditions (as I might have already mentioned), these reservations are recommended, in order according to capability:
Think no evil.
Say no evil.
Do no evil.
@Paul-Martin saidHow could you possibly know that, Professor X?
Lots of people in UK would disagree with you and put their reason down to experience and research too.
