@KellyJay saidI would agree with you, or two cheeks of the same arse as is said in Britain.
Don’t vote if that makes it easier for you to live with yourself. I vote for the things that are imporant to me as I assume others do as well. In my opinion both the R&D are two sides of the same coin.
Ultimately it is a choice of conscience. Mine won’t allow me to vote for a political system that wants to murder and steal.
John 8.44 reports that Jesus told the Pharisees that “you are if your father the devil ….. he was a murderer from the beginning.”
I wonder how many Christians have been murdered by (alleged) fellow Christian’s whose deeds were papered over as “collateral damage”?
What things are important to you that you vote for KellyJay ?
@medullah saidI thought you were of the opinion that Christians should abstain from voting.
I haven’t suggested that it did ???
I am stating though that Jesus said that his followers were no part of the world (John 17) and therefore is this not the position that the rest of us should adopt?
I also suggested that Daniel gives you a hint at the time period that the full effect of the kingdom would be felt if you can work out who the fifth world power is ??
I have no problem with the US destroying Islam and Muslims, especially those who kill Christians and who believe Christians should be killed.
I have no clue who is the 5th world power. It can very well be Islam judging from how things are going. People thought it was the Pope, but the power of the Catholic Church has dwindeled especially since the allegations and convictions of sexual abuse by the clergy.

@medullah saidProlife, less government, more personal responsiblity, law and order, basically a level playing field. I don’t like the government picking winners and losers. I don’t like someone who wants to win so they single out the bad guys by claiming xxxxx. I hate identity politics where go big but vague, or demonizing someone or group.

@Rajk999 saidIt was the USA that exported eugenics to Germany, and its elite that petitioned the Kaiser for the release of Hitler from Prison. We all know the story - the mass extermination of Jews.

You now seem to be advocating for the mass extermination of Muslims?? What sort of a Christian philosophy is that other than one steeped in hate ?
As for the fifth power you may not already know, but the clues are there in the book of Daniel for those that wish to know - possibly the reason that God had the book penned in the first place ?
@medullah saidI dont see the relevance of the USA exporting eugenics to Germany. Please explain.

Yes, I advocate the killing of murderers. Anyone who kills another person in cold blood [ie without reason] has given up the right to live in a decent society. This is not hate but justice. Islam promotes the doctrine of killing unbelievers and apostates, and this not just a theory it is carried on right now in several countries. I never said the mass killing of Muslims.
The idea some have that Christians are supposed to lie down and die when confronted with aggression and murderers is utter nonsense and unbiblical.
As for the 5th power, maybe you can share your ideas so that a discussion can take place instead of being secretive.
@medullah saidSo what if it does?
The passage from Daniel 2:44 reads (LSB)
“And in the days of of those kings the God of Heaven will cause a kingdom to rise up which will never be destroyed, and that kingdom will not be left for another people; it will crush and put an ends to all these kingdoms, but it will itself stand forever.
@moonbus saidSuch a conniver. π
The Kingdom of God is spiritual, not political. One is enough, in your case. How many others is not your concern. Nor is it mine.
When by? Before you die.
The OT prophecies are allegorical signs, not future-historical predictions. Zech. 9:9 did not predict that Jesus would ride into town on a donkey. He was telling people that the [i]sign[/i ...[text shortened]... an unridden colt, that his people would recognize the sign and know that their messiah had arrived.

@moonbus saidIn Pope Leo of Chicago and Peru's position, I think it's probably just something he has to do, no matter what he thinks about it.
BTW, have you seen that the current Pope is off to Iznik in present-day Turkey, to celebrate the 1700th anniversary of the Council of Nicea?

It's not necessarily easy being the Pope.

@Rajk999 saidHowever, in constitutional democracies, people should vote for those who uphold their constitutional principles, and probably against those who try to turn it into a "theocracy".
Nothing there can be an instruction not to go out and vote for people who will uphold Christian principles.

@Arkturos said"Welcome to the end of democracy." It is hard to see what the speaker is holding in his hand; it's a crucifix.

When Donald Trump said that if they voted for him one more time, they wouldn't have to again, he meant it.
