Please help me understand Romans 9:16 here I give all the translations. Thanks.

    How so?

Just because it's not your cookie-cutter FoxNews-okayed religion?

And I'm not a Calvinist, either, so no wonder you don't "get" my faith.

Constantly conflating religious and political rhetoric isn't helpful. You Americans seem to do it all the time.

So not being a Calvinist means loving abortions and sexual immorality.

It's only because only the Republican Party in America conflates the two, and insists on presenting themselves as Christian when there is almost nothing further from the truth.

Either that, or they are just stupid and support a political party that they just don't understand what it actually stands for.

On the contrary, I do not conflate the two at all. I do not see how solid, honest Christians can be Republican, unless they just don't understand that the party stands for greed and racism and sexism. And furthermore, I can't say I give a fig what someone from another country thinks of American politics. It's like me commenting on English Football.

Well, according to you, being a Calvinist means that you must be one of the elect and everyone else can just go to hell and like it.

As Bernard of Clairvaux wrote, "Grace is necessary to salvation, free will equally so - but grace in order to give salvation, free will in order to receive it."

You treat Republicans as if they are sinners for simply being alive and thinking monotheistic thoughts. No grace there?

Do you believe the Bible is the word of God? If so why do you say Jesus wants some people damned when the Bible clearly says that He is not willing that any should perish?
