People are allowed to believe (or not) what they wish, same as you; however, when it's pointed out to you that in literal terms you are correct but there's another perspective at work, and you fail to acknowledge that you're being agreed with while continuing the same railings...well, you're being just as closed and intolerant as those you rail against.

99.9% of Christians believe that Jesus was resurected from the dead and performed miracles through-out his life. NO FLOOD, NO CREATION AND NO SUPER-HERO JESUS.

Of coruse something else is at work. Very intelligent people wrote the Bible but that was 2000 years ago. We dont live in intelligent people's minds of 2000 years ago but are in the 21st century. If you need love that badly then buy a dog.

Im still waiting for the part of the Bible that says men must have one wife. Seems like you are in the habit of making statements you cant backup with some hard evidence.

Ge 2:24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.

And here Jesus reaffirms.

Mr 10:7 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife;

Notice that it says wife.(singular)

That sir, is your opinion. I'm sure you won't mind if the rest of us choose not to agree that your mouth is a "prayer book"? 😀

It is my opinion based through a life that I have lived. I was brought up in a church and spent 4 years in a Christian school.

I start a thread here saying that the Noah fantasy is rubbish and present evidence of why this is the case and thereby leading to the creation story in the very same chapter being of the same rubbish and the entire Bible as in Jesus life and you idiots cant even discuss it.

On the contrary; I have. I'm not the idiot if you haven't read what I said and attempted to understand it.

No imagination required. Polygamists are fairly common in some parts of the world (here in SA our former vice president, current head of the leading party and presidential hopeful is a polygamist.)
Though I don't know any socially, I certainly have seen no evidence that polygamists have more marital problems than monogamists.

it was a joke. however i see no reason in most cases why poligamy is better than monogamy.

if a man has two wives he must love them equally or else one is considered inferior to the other wife. also having two wives promotes the image of man's superiority over women because the man receives the love and attention of two women whereas each wife only receives the love of one man and probably one of them is loved less than the other.

poligamy would be relevant only when the female population far outnumbered the male. or if a large number of males would be somehow genetically diseased or sterile. and even then it would be better solved by artificial insemination and then marriage with a man mentioned above(i am talking about a woman choosing the father of her children here)

monogamy is much less complicated and more fair. marriage is in my view not so much as two people breeding(gay marriages are just as much valid as hetero ones) but a contract between two people to share life. of course if a man(woman) could equally love two or more women(men) and the women have nothing against it then no problem.

So God made that statement in Genesis and then later on gave David 200 wives ?
