The whole is metaphorical according to you and your examples. Which means what you can ignore the scripture verses because of your intellect and dismiss the warnings and the prophecies contain in the book?

Take it all or parts and divide them up any way that seems right to you. The truth contained in scripture is not divided up as you are attempting to divide it. This is true because God uses all the text to impart truth to us. A literal real historical event can be used as a metaphor to convey some truth to us. You are lathering about on a meaningless quest in my opinion, only to attempt to suggest something in the scriptures can be ignored with impunity.

I didn’t grow up as a Christian I didn’t become one till I was 25, and that was 37 years ago. Hell and the eternal torment is found in scripture, I didn’t put it there, and you cannot take it out!

For someone who splits hairs in scripture you actually should learn that if your
point or instructions can be interpreted in 3 ways, odds are those who were listening
to you will only understand your point or instructions 33% of the time.

Divegeester,

Is Revelation all literal or not?
If not, which bits are metaphors/symbolism and why?"

Which one of these two passages speak of something that will not happen?

" ... The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever." (Rev. 11:15b)

"And the Devil who deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where also the beast and the false prophet were; and they shall be tormented day and night forever and ever." (Rev. 20:10)

If only ONE of the two prophecies will happen, how do you know that the other will not ?

It doesn't matter if it they are symbolic or not, the truth is something is going to
occur, and we are told this in terms we can grasp. Who cares if God sits on a
chair called a throne or not, or its a metaphor for sometime we cannot
understand! What we do know it He is King of the universe, there isn't anything
He isn't Lord over.

Thankyou. I meant to address the question specifically to Divegeester, if my intention was obscure.
