It's only damaging fiction if it's repeated as a caricature or stereotype in several films in a row.
They didn't tell me why I was thrown out. I don't think they do often.
Concerning the film- it can be damaging if it's a powerful and believable film that sweeps the globe by storm. It doesn't have to be many several films in a row.

But the Da Vinci Code was not, unless the conservative Christians constructed it as such. Thus it is sort of their own fault that the film rebounded on itself. Arab and Muslim caricatures, on the other hand, are repeated so often that most people who have not been to the region consider the caricature to be accurate.

Which would you say are generally worse: Christians or Jews?
None of the three Abrahamic faiths are perfect. All of them have faults, and atrocities, committed in their name. But Islam, on the whole, is a lot better about actively preventing that sort of thing.
Of course, most religions' beliefs are silly, but you can believe what you want. As long as it doesn't infringe on the religious rights of others.

What was the Spanish/French/Italian Inquisition again?
Ooooohhhhh, riiiight .... Christian things.
Now yes, Muslim governments sometimes authorize the killing of apostates and the stoning of adulterers. But these acts are not nearly as common as you think they are, and certainly less common than similar Christian acts.

"I advocate fear of any religious zealot."
I agree. But I think we differ on definitions.

It's kind of creepy how you always talk to yourself. Glad to know you're coming to your senses otherwise, though.
You write about Christian atrocities 500 to 2000 years old.
I am telling you about Islamic atrocities in the last 20 years and you call them both current. Thats the sign of a total dunce.
You are an embarrasment if your goal is the defence of Islam.
You should be executed just like how they execute apostates.
