Do you know what the Catholic Church's behaviour in regards to child abuse is?
Originally posted by XanthosNZMany mistakes were made in the past. However, I hope they learned from them and will handle such cases better in the future. Sexually abusing children is a serious crime that must be adressed in an effective way. The interests of the abused persons should always be in first place, not the interests of the Church as an institution.
Do you support the Catholic Church's behaviour in regards to child abuse?

The Catholic Church? That is a long and no doubt well tried debate in itself.
Meanwhile, so long as the church demands a "celibate" priesthood it naturally accumulates a certain number of frustrated men who, after a few years, are desperate to release some sexual tension. Unfortunately their job puts them in contact with lots of children who trust them. The ...[text shortened]... wrong with that at all. It just means, statistically, a lot of the child victims will be boys.

Originally posted by Rajk999That's a brilliant idea! I'm sure the number of offences against kids could only decrease if these men were allowed open adult relationships. (I assume you mean gay marriages between priests or have I read you wrong?)
