yeah, if you actually got your mum to explain it to you, you'd realise my point was god turns out to be true even though i didnt realise this at the time during my life, only when i died; am i still allowed entry into heaven for being a good person...? if you have trouble with this explanation as well i write in capitals for you next time

You get to make your own decision, sure, but simply because you chose it doesn't make it true.

I dont get involved in discussions on whether or not God exists.
I dont ask people why they do not believe in God.
I dont tell people whether or not they will go to hell.
What I will say though is that it takes a man with very limited experience and a heavy dose of arrogance to think that the billions of humans in the last 6 thousand years that believed in a supernatural being (a god) of various types, were all wrong.
At the very least the intelligent and the unbiased and the mature MUST reach the conclusion that there is insufficient evidence to decide whether or not there is a God.
So those Christians who condemn atheists are immature and stupid
Likewise those atheists who condemn Christians are also immature and stupid.

Originally posted by twhiteheadI totally agree. Many religious people/groups need to have a feeling of superiority and separate themselves from others. But that is contrary to the spirit of what Christ taught.

But you dont have to say "I dont know anything", . Many people (like myself) have very strong religious beliefs, but dont openly condemn other sects or religious groups. Any Christian religion that condemns others (and there are many), have totally missed the teachings of Christ.
Originally posted by eatmybishopI'd say it's not my job to decide, in an individual case, who goes to heaven and who goes to Hell.
i do not believe in god or any religion; however, i would consider myself a good person, i have never intentionally harmed anyone and i try my best to treat any race or colour with dignity and respect...
with this in mind, when i die, if i stood at the gates of heaven and god said to you, "you choose whether to let him into heaven or send him to hell?", what would you do?
