Or are you trying to make decisions and choices for me ?
You get to make your own decision, sure, but simply because you chose it doesn't make it true.

well said scottish... no doubt he'll come back with a quote from the bible to back up his argument then doom us all to a lifetime of misery in hell... on the plus side, at least he wont be there

I dont quote the Bible to atheists.
I dont get involved in discussions on whether or not God exists.
I dont ask people why they do not believe in God.
I dont tell people whether or not they will go to hell.

What I will say though is that it takes a man with very limited experience and a heavy dose of arrogance to think that the billions of humans in the last 6 thousand years that believed in a supernatural being (a god) of various types, were all wrong.

At the very least the intelligent and the unbiased and the mature MUST reach the conclusion that there is insufficient evidence to decide whether or not there is a God.

So those Christians who condemn atheists are immature and stupid
Likewise those atheists who condemn Christians are also immature and stupid.

And yet nearly every human being in those 6000 years has believed that most of the others were wrong about a significant proportion of their beliefs. In fact the only way you can think otherwise is to effectively say "I don't know anything." but even then you must admit that most of the people are wrong even if you don't know which ones.

if 99.9% of the world's population believe in something yet can offer no solid proof for this belief, there is still a possibility that belief could be wrong; i wouldn't call this arrogance, just being open minded

I totally agree. Many religious people/groups need to have a feeling of superiority and separate themselves from others. But that is contrary to the spirit of what Christ taught.

But you dont have to say "I dont know anything", . Many people (like myself) have very strong religious beliefs, but dont openly condemn other sects or religious groups. Any Christian religion that condemns others (and there are many), have totally missed the teachings of Christ.

i do not believe in god or any religion; however, i would consider myself a good person, i have never intentionally harmed anyone and i try my best to treat any race or colour with dignity and respect...

with this in mind, when i die, if i stood at the gates of heaven and god said to you, "you choose whether to let him into heaven or send him to hell?", what would you do?
I'd say it's not my job to decide, in an individual case, who goes to heaven and who goes to Hell.

Well, if you count asking a question as "telling you what to believe" then, sure, yes I did.

Science must fair badly in your universe. After all, it'd take a man of very limited experience and a heavy dose of arrogance to try and tell the world that the earth circles the sun, and not the other way about, as people had thought for thousands of years, right?
