I don't see why you're now trying to make this personal, robbie. I merely pointed out that, for Indonesian Christians, "Allah" is one of the words used for "God". If you think that Indonesian Christians don't use the word "Allah" for "God" and that the information I have provided is not "valid", then just say so.
I have no doubt that they do FMF, based upon your word, you simply appear to be
more sensitive than your usual mercurial self.

quite a melting pot, if ever there was one.

Sensitive in what way? I haven't said anything rude or provocative at all. I have merely chipped in with a bit of cultural/linguistic information from my part of the world. It was Suzianne who insulted me, not me who insulted her. It is you who has shifted to the 'why are you grumpy?' and 'why are you sensitive?' approach, not me.

I still do not understand why you have tried to make this personal, robbie. In which post of mine did you think I was insulting you or Suzianne?

You have not insulted me, as for Suzzianne i cannot say, her error seemed to me to be
of her own making, its just, you are a little quick to be defensive FMF, perhaps its
nothing, a simple misperceived nuance, your rhetoric seemed somewhat aggressive, i
quote, 'them-or-us partisanship that is the scourge of religion the world over', i had no
intention of making it personal, nor any have intention of continuing in this vain, if you
will accept that its is misperceived, we can move swiftly on.

I haven't been "defensive" at all, robbie. I stated something about the language used to describe "God" in the country where I live, and it has been you and Suzianne who have seemed to - as it were - not 'want' it to be true by talking about America and Pakistan. If anything it is you who have been "defensive" and sort of lingusitically territorial about this simple matter. I really don't see why you meet my statement of a simple information with some kind of weak 'emotional' or 'intellectual' put downs - "stupid", "grumpy", "defensive", "sensitive" etc. etc. Please do not turn little exchanges like these into a personal thing robbie. Please.

I have never stated that i did not want it to be true, i merely expressed surprise, that
was all, based on my own experience of Christian minorities from elsewhere, Egypt,
Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, India. You rhetoric when pressed upon certain theological
matters was aggressive, and i stand by it, the Bible and the Koran describe two
different personalities entirely, in fact, Koranic heaven is essentially an Arabic vision, of
cool winds and Harems, hardly consistent with the Christian God, regardless of any
assertion that they describe the same being, they do not. I cannot recall terming you
stupid and these were not put downs FMF, they were my perception of your rhetoric.

My experience while visiting other countries and talking with Muslims is that they are indeed the same God.

yes that is the claim, but when one reads either the Hadith or the Koran and makes a
comparison with the Bible, one can see that it describes a totally different entity
altogether and its this that irked FMF, because his egalitarian sensibilities reject any
kind of discretion, its the new age, all encompassing, anything goes, were all just one
big family secular liberalism. He loathes the idea of us and them, that religion should
be divisive, exclusive, however, after reading the Holy writings, the two dietys are
irreconcilable.

I thought that too at one time.
