As a chemist he is qualified to discuss the chemistry involved and should be taken very seriously on the topic.
Are the chemists with whom you disagree not qualified?

Practically everybody believes something unbelievable.

Virgin Birth - ???

Abiogenesis - ????

Resurrection from the dead - ??!!

Random mutations producing material for new organisms - ???!!!

Creation ex nihilo - Unbelieable, Astounding !!

Speciation by unguided processes - requiring huge faith

And eternal Mind - Incredible!

Eternal Matter - Say what ??

Adam and Eve - Preposterous !

Natural DNA information generation - Incredible !!

Angels - Boggles the mind!

Multiverse - Baffling !!

God - Unbelievable

No God - HUH ???

A world wide Flood sparing all but 8 people - Unbelieavable!

A FIRST instance of Natural Selection - Mind boggling!

Eternal Life - Unbelievable

No immaterial SOUL - How's THAT ??

Atheists often get a pass around here while theists are deemed "unreasonable" - like atheists don't require leaps of something like "faith".

A last judgment - How's THAT ??

Space Aliens - Where ??

Are you sure? Maybe nature processes over time through random mutations did? 😉

Adaptive mutation states that rather than mutations and evolution being random, they are in response to specific stresses. In other words, the mutations that occur are more beneficial and specific to the given stress, instead of random and not a response to anything in particular. (Wiki)

Then to the issue at hand, the OP.

A well adjusted and moral human being will abhor genocide wherever or whenever it occurs.

So during the Third Reich the nation that produced Beethoven, Gutenberg, Bach, Goethe, Wagner, Planck, Kant, Diesel, Humbolt, just to name a few world renown German personalities, was somehow lapsed in godless "strength" to look the other way at the murder of six million Jews?

The american nation (separation of church and state) that produced Jefferson, Franklin, Washington, Lincoln, Edison, Carver, lapsed in strength to almost wipe out the indigenous Native Americans?

The abhorers who wrote tracts AGAINST genocidal activities were often Christians - Abolitionists at the mass crimes of the Atlantic Slaver Trade. - Methodists, Quakers, Mennonites here and in Britain. Those were all folks with God.

The Japanese were "well-adjusted" and without a Theos. It didn't stop them from making Chinese women by the thousands, "comfort women" for which I think the Chinese are still seeking a formal apology.

Maybe your little cut and dry theory is premature, not historically fool proof.

None of that explains how a new limb, organ, or any of the senses came into existence.

Yes sir, humans have highly evolved intelligence that enables us to formulate sentences. (Even sonship, on a good day).

Okay. I'm working on not writing no double negatives.

How's our species served by evolving an intelligence smart enough launch thousands of atomic and hydrogen bombs at each other around the planet?

Say something about how mankind is benefitted by an intelligence smart enough to cause global climate change, threatening the extinction of life on the planet.

Just a few words. I'm curious.

Intelligence has been our salvation, but it may very well become our downfall.

So the instructions in DNA is incredibly more difficult and extremely longer than a few lines in a text. You think it all just occurred throughout time by an unguided process? The formation of all life and every detail in each appear as an unguided process that had no goal and didn’t favor anything above another?
