So says the one who condemns other Christians here because they don't conform to his own personal definition of Christian.
Do you think the atheists here would, for one second, stand for a Christian telling them what it means to be an atheist?
I could stand here all day and opine on what I think drives atheists to think what they think, but it doesn't ...[text shortened]... to tell Christians how they should act as Christians. That is the highest form of hypocrisy.
christians on the other hand have a book that records the sayings of christ. we can invariably compare how christians behave with how they should behave according to christ.
ergo, to answer you earlier statement, yes you do have a non-theist pointing out your mistakes, and it's not according to what i think, it's according to what's written in your own bible, should you bother to read it one day, you could naught but agree with me.

But you do remember the scripture in your Bible that says: "Vengence belongs to the Lord"? So if innocent ones are being mistreated and even killed in other countries by their governments it is ok to do this "vengence" by humans that might be needed to correct the situation?
My point is there is a point and time that defense or offense is justified. I don't think war is good BTW but......the alternative is just as horrible in the case of WWII and we can argue back and forth. I believe in defending those who can't defend themselves no matter who or what it is. This is indeed a Christian idea. I think as far gun ownership and cr ...[text shortened]... your presence I would expect you to do something not just stand there and watch.

Think long and hard on this. No man can take the place of what only God has the right to do............
Could it be that we have taken the place of God as the rightful ruler and judge and have replaced him with humans and rulers and their governments? As a result of that perhaps God has backed off because of our stubborness and has let us try to find the way to rule ourselves but as of yet have not done it even in a slightly spiritual way?
We pray for God's Kingdom to come to earth as it has in heaven but yet we are not willing to turn over all authority to him and still to this very day do things such as judging other countries and go in and push our government and our ways on them in the name of Justice. Who's justice exactly? God's or mans?
I'm not aware of any so called Christian nation's President or King ever standing up before his subjects and expressing out loud that "we are screwing up" and as a result we all as one nation beg of our God to completely take over and take care of us. We put ourselves in your hands." Lol..Yeah right!!!!!

The Bible has the answers from Jesus's own words and examples. To be a Christian means to "follow in Jesus foot steps" and conform our life to one of love and peace.
If you are literally following in anothers footsteps but decide to step out of those foot steps and make your own........ well, do you get the point?
Do you think putting on a uniform and picking up a gun is what Jesus would have done?

Alternatively, it puts value on death.

This happened a few times back with the Isrealites who for human reasons, felt like they needed a human on a physical throne for them to see instead of the God they couldn't. And as history proved with this many mistakes were made by the human kings and as a result the nation usually suffered.
And yes he did have this law set up which was part of the old laws. But did Jesus not teach the new laws of love that we now live by turning the other cheek?
So yes the laws of the worldly governments many time use the death penility. But is that not different then putting on a uniform and attacking another country and killing your supposed brothers in faith and then with the killing of innocent lifes that will happen?
How many innocent ones have been killed by this country in the last few years? Who will answer to God for this?
Vengence only belongs to God..................
