Ivanhoe has demonized me. Darfius has demonized me. They are a team!

If I were either of them, I would cry bloody murder. I would cry 'PERSECUTION!'
and whine until the cows came home.

I think it is the funniest thing ever to have happened here.

The thing is, Telerion, that Darfius explicitly thinks of ...[text shortened]... t I am
too 'arrogant' and 'self-righteous' to care.

It's funny beyond words.

So you call yourself a Christian ?

You and No1 are quite chummy lately. Isn't it wonderful to have a common foe ? It unites people, doesn't it ?

Why is it so important that Nemesio is a Christian? It seems to worry you that there is some doubt and uncertainty about Nem's view of the world and the otherworld. Why do you need to categorize people?

And will you please define a Christian. Is it someone who believes in Christ? If so, then count me as a Christian. I believe he lived. Or is it something more? Someone who believes in the Bible? Which bits? The bits where its OK to smite someone for calling names? The bit where its OK to tear apart women's pregnant bellies? Or is it something more? Perhaps one has to believe in God? Moslems believe in the same God as the Christians but call him Allah. So it can't be that. Perhaps one has to be a Roman Catholic to be a Christian? Or a Mormon? Or a SDA? Or a Jones follower? Or a Lutheran? Or do I just have to accept the teachings of Christ? Which ones? It's all too confusing...

We see here the manifestation of the spiritual union of Torqamada and Simon Legree.
You shall be punished for offending them.

Nemesio prefers not to reveal what his religion is. Why ? Is he afraid he might receive the same treatment from the secular bigots on this site others are receiving ?

In fact I don't know who I am talking to, when I talk to Nemesio. It is sometimes like talking to a political correct encyclopedia who is determined to teach everybody a good lesson instead of talking to a human being who is taking a genuine and honest stance in life.

Haha, I totally agree. Nemesio is very knowledgable, but frankly it's just cowardice to bash on EVERYONE'S (at least he doesn't discriminate) beliefs while keeping yours secret. It shows an inability to take criticism, frankly. Or perhaps he doesn't know what to believe, except that he's right on all matters?

I've desperately tried to stay away from you, but this last comment just gets my goat. You've been here just a few months and during that time you've done nothing other than tell people how they should and shouldn't behave. Nemesio's beliefs are his own, whether he chooses to keep them to himself is none of your business. How dare you tell someone they are a coward for holding their beliefs close! If I wasn't sure that I'd be mod'd I'd tell you exactly what I thought of you. You claim to be a christian, but from the amount of arrogant pride, anger and lack of humility you show, all you really are is a poor excuse for a human. I don't like you, and it has nothing to do with your beliefs, it's just that in my opinion, you're not a very nice piece of work.

If these are the worst things one would find on these forums we all could be very contented indeed.

Hallelujah! Praise Jesus! He is risen! Hosanna in the Highest! Fill me up Holy Spirit! Jahdkcoslkj dlj slkvesh! Akundalahumdalahum!

Wait! I'm gettin a message from the Lorda. He saysa, "It's not cowardice to keep your beliefs to yourselfa."

He saysa, "He would appreciate it if you kept your beliefs to yourselfa too-a"

He says, "Stop-a! Child you are embarrasing me-a."

And with that we close:
Thank you Lord for this food we are about to receive and sanctify it to its use. Amen

No. It has nothing to do with cowardice, though you may comfort yourself
to believe it.

It has to do with conviction. You believe that it is your 'vocation' to 'preach'
to people. That is your right. In so doing, you open yourself up to criticism.
That is your sacrifice. If you don't like criticism, then don't preach.

You were partially right in saying 'perhaps he doesn't know what to believe.'
I do not believe that I have all knowledge or even sufficient knowledge. I
believe that if every book in the world were handwritten by God Himself, I
wouldn't have sufficient knowledge to be eligible to 'preach' about Him. I
think it is the height of arrogance.

You say that I am 'very knowledgable.' By this, I assume you mean that I
'remember' things or 'can find things out.' This is a spiritually meaningless
trait that you attribute to me (knowledge) because I don't believe that
intellectual knowledge has any salvific currency.

However, that 'knowledge' is useful against arrogant folks who claim to
'know' what God wants. For those who spout out absurdity, contradiction,
and error in every third post, 'knowledge' is a useful tool. It exposes. That
is why I am not liked by some people on this site -- they are made to feel
insecure by my 'knowledge.'

And so, they strive to discredit by calling me names like coward or trouble-
maker or forum disrupter.

That is my sacrifice for my conviction (to keep my faith private, between
myself, God, and my faith community). If I don't like it, then I should
either discuss my faith or leave the site. I choose what I like, you choose
what you like.

Unlike the lot of you, I don't complain about it. I don't cry 'persecution' and
'bloody murder' about it.

I have found a lot of rewarding things in a lot of faith traditions. Those
things have enriched my life, and many of those things have been incorporated
into my belief system. I don't 'bash' other peoples' religions (or lack thereof),
I criticize those who make a mockery of God through the gross misrepresentation
of Him through their religion.
