I don't think Dawkins has sanctioned mass murder but I could be wrong!
I was hoping to get some inside information on his sadomasochistic activities.

I'll give it to you. Five minutes after getting the same information about God.

Someone needs to go back to Bible class!

Deuteronomy 20:10-17
"When you draw near a city to fight against it, offer terms of peace to it. And if its answer to you is peace and it opens to you, then all the people who are found in it shall do forced labour for you and shall serve you. But if it makes no peace with you, but makes war against you, then you shall besiege it; and when the Lord your God gives it into your hand you shall put all its male to the sword, but the women and the little ones, the cattle, and everything else in the city, all its spoil, you shall take as booty for yourself; and you shall enjoy the spoil of your enemy, which the Lord God has given to you. Thus you shall do to all the cities which are far from you, which are not cities of the nations here. In the cities of these people that the Lord your God gives you an inheritance, you shall save alive nothing that breathes but you shall utterly destroy them, the Hittites and the Amoriotes, the Canaanites and the Jebusites, as the Lord your God has commanded."

Wait wait, you made the claim. You want us to answer your questions, first you have to back up your claim.

Oh dear.
He vanished in a little puff of holy smoke.

I agree.

It's immature to keep quoting words of others, drawn from a book you happen to like, as if they were infallible.
If you are talking about the bible, I agree.

Sorry for vanishing. I'm back in a puff of holy smoke. First, I didn't make any claim. In fact, I just wanted to point at the absurd of Dawkins phrase.

Second, The OT must be considered as a whole with the NT, and than it makes sense.

Yes, taking all the Bible parts together is certianly picking and mixing.

I've just read through the whole thread tonight. It's like reading a Monty Python sketch.

A few things missed along the way though. God telling the men of a certain tribe who have no women to go and get all the virgins from their neighbours after watching them dancing through the bushes.
They ran from the bushes, coshed the ove rthe head and then took them away.
God's charm school drop-outs I think.

What about the present of the captured virgins (what they'd want them for I couldn't imagine) when Moses and his army defeated some tribe.
I think the general got 66. Sheesh, he'd have been busy for a couple of nights!

That poor Kelly girl. She sounds so young and innocent. Let's hope she doesn't ever wake up to reality. It may destroy her.

So you take Creation literally or is it a metaphor for the Universe being over 13 billion years old?

Why did you so completely fail then?

Being able to grasp reality seems to be an issue with you uh?
