If you have'nt read Dianetics, or done any courses in scientology, then you dont know what your attacking.
Just because you heard some lies from the media or some sites about it, doesnt make it true.
I've been involved for over 30+ years, and i was antagonistic at times too. But i realized i did messed up things, and found a way to releive the "stress" that these overt acts where causing me.
Who wants to walk around all bitter, and being effected by your enviorment? Are any of you really happy? can you say that life is really good and your getting everything you work for?
All scientology is, is technology to help the common man or woman get spiritual freedom, and use tools in life to overcome barriers.
Look at whats happining in the world today. With crazed politicians posed to destroy the planet, and people becoming drugged and fat, and violent, scientology may be the only way the planent can survive.

What happends is these overts (crimes, petty or worse) that a person commits, makes the person act in this way. Basicly people are good. When a person commits an overt, and witholds it, then the person isi'nt "punished" for it. (punished is the way society at large handles this person)The person then commits more overts so he or she will get caught, and maybe helped. If a person doesnt get "found out" then they act in a anti-social or otherwise "guilty" way.
A persons "reactive mind" (see: dianetics) Doesnt want to get "found out" so it acts in an atagonistic way towards anyone who might discover whats going on.

Im hoping someone with enough intelligence will post with some constructive questions, or a real desire to find out more. Seems like only little boys rule these boards.
I'll keep harping anyway, because i really feel that the technology from scientology and dianetics can vastly improve someone who wants to learn more about themselves. If you dont understand some of the terms i use, please go to the scientology or dianetics site, and look for the glossery, or better yet go to a local org or mission, and ask them about what its about.
Besides overts and witholds, many factors impeade chess progress.
When reading a chess book, how many times have you gotten confused, or felt the words just did'nt make sense? I know every chessplayer has given up on a book because they couldnt understand it.
Maybe it was over your head, or maybe you had a "misunderstood"
This is where you just did'nt understand a word fully, or not at all. Ever notice that you didnt understand anything after going past this word?
Have you read a whole chess book, and wondered why none of the ideas translated to OTB play?
This is a "Barrier to Study" and is explained in some of the basic courses given at any scientology org or mission.
Another barrier is "lack of mass" this is where your reading something, but cant picture it in your head. This is common when trying to understand most chess books. Even though you play the moves out on a board, it's hard to visualize the concepts, and really understand them. I bet if you went back and looked at some of those chess books that you threw across the room in disgust, and looked for the point that you where felling good about what you were reading, and found a point where things got confused, you will find a misunderstood word. Clear it up in a good dictionary (be carefull about some advanced dictionary's because you will get more misunderstoods in the definition itself!)
And re-read from where you found the misunderstood. This is the reason why many school kids get confused and act doopy, or get labeled with a "learning disorder" Or the made up condition "ADD". All you need to do is look for misunderstood words, and clear them up, and you will understand what you are reading. Its so simple it's ridiculous.

Lets do this. Try some of the things i talked about here. Take a piece of paper, write out some overts and witholds. The proper way to do this is to read the book-Introduction to Scientology Ethics. or take a basic couse like Ethics and Conditions, at an org or mission.
Write them like this: Time-when the overt happened. eg: april 5th, 2005. Place: in my house, in balh balh state.
Form: i stole a cookie from the cookie jar.
Event: what happened because of this. eg: my mother noticed some cookies missing, and blamed my sister. She got spanked, and i laughed.
so the whole ow write up would be like this.
I stole a cookie.
on april 5th, 2005, i stole a cookie from the cookie jar in the kitchen.
This was in my house on blah, blah, lane in blah blah state.
My mother got mad at my sister, and punished her. I laughed, and even said she did it. My sister hates me now, and this caused problems later on with me and her.
Also write down who might have found out. eg: my mother might have known i did it, but i blamed my sister. This is the withold part. When some one might find out, is called a "missed withold"
This will release a lot of pent up guilt, and negative emotions caused by these overts. write as many as you can think of. You will remember more as you go on. You dont have to do it all at once, but it would be great if you did it quickly.
The next thing is show them to a qualified ethics officer. Or advanced Scientologist. This is like confession, in the catholic religion.
The whole thing is you need to get rid of the withold, and gain release.
If thats too much to handle right now, try looking for misunderstood words in those chess books that you put down. Or in anybooks for that matter. Theres a few basic courses in Scientology that you can take, that will explain it better then i can.
Find a point that you felt good about what you where reading, and look for a point where you felt confused. It could be the first page, a few pages later, or even the title might have a misunderstood word.
If these things dont do amything for you, then maybe im full of it, and your right. If not, then you might just get a taste of a technology that really works!

There are plenty of negative sites, and blogs, etc about dianetics and scientology, so i invite you to investigate the other side of the story.
Did you know the Scientology Volunteer Ministers go to all major disasters here and around the world, and help the victims with emotional and physical crises. In fact they where asked to stay at the 9-11 ground zero site, while other volunteers had to leave.
