Got asked for an IQ test today on my way
through town. No doubt another scientologist
checking I'm dumb enough to join his sect.

No offence Grandmouster.

Are you dense? Can you not follow the given links?

I will spell out one case for you.
Scientology member Michael Pattinson was confined.
The confinement took place in the Scientology facility in Clearwater, Florida.
The confinement took place in June of 1996.
The reason for the confinement was his refusal to buy a particular $7400 psychological treatment from the org.
The confinement ended when he physcially escaped and fled.
The Clearwater Police Department has more details on file.

scientology
costly in ego
yet no logics
long society.

Does being held captive come under point 5?

5.) were part of Scientology at some point and did something bad to a Scientologist and are trying to point the finger at them in order to make themselves feel better.

I just got off the phone with a top executive at the building in question regarding that case. They said if this was true how come no-one was charged with kiddnapping?
I've never heard of this incident, and neither has many other scientologist who have been involved for many years.
Can you find an arrest record? was anyone charged?

I don't believe any criminal charges were pursued.

As for chickenwire, you must be thinking of a different case:

There are tons of stories, and web sites devoted to debaseing scientology. To me this just means that there must be something that a percentage of people are afraid of.
There are things that they did they dont want people to find out.
Like i said there are 8 million happy members, and a few people who for whatever reason, have things going on that no-one can help them with.
The first thing anyone needs to do is confront what they have done, and release the stress that these acts are causing.
I will answer Q & A from anyone with real and more positive inquiries.
I think all the links I posted have enough information to handle the negative post that have been generated here.

This is a lie. You have been lied to by the CO$:

Currently, CoS has apparently given up on specific membership numbers and claims "1,039 Scientology organizations, missions and groups around the world". Even at the outrageously optimistic assumption of a thousand members in each of those, that would still only be a million members --

You will learn one day. When you do, please remember this thread.

Then you should be aware that "dianetics" is a form of regression therapy cobbled together by the founder of scientology, L. Ron Hubbard. Hubbard used methods already in place in psychiatry, occult science, and mind control. It is applied dangerously by unqualified persons in order to break down individuals, and prepare them for induction into "Scientology".

If you've never had contact with an "orgs" or "missions", consider yourself lucky. If the only exposure you've had to dianetics is through Hubbard's book, and were able to glean any personally useful information, great. I wish you well.

There might be 1000 employees in each of these orgs, but there are many more who dont work in the buildings, and also work in the field, and take courses, and have taken courses, and people who go off and on, and people who have only taken a few courses, and people who have been involved for 20-30 years, people who work with family members, doing auditing, etc, etc, etc. The numbers clambaked, or whatever, say, can be true, they just havent included the rest of the members.
Like i said, i wont be responing to neg post anymore, investigate the links i put up. or go to an org and ask questions, or see a free film, or better yet take a personality test, and discover things about yourself, that you can improve on

I recently finished the Dianetcs course based on the book by L.Ron Hubbard. This is the Religion that everyone has heard of recently because of Tom Cruise and the media.
I have received about 20 hours of Dianetic processing, and got noticeable gains, including increased mental focus, in chess and life.
The website is www.dianetics.org or www.scientology.org.
Has anyone else read the book?
Thanks
Yes, I have. It's been a while though. I remember there was an excellent article in the introduction about the scientific method or something like that, but if I remember correctly, Hubbard was not the author of that article and it was not written for the book.

Dianetics seems worth investigating, but there's nothing religious about it. I don't know anything about Scientology. There is a lot more to Scientology than what is written in Dianetics, and the stuff that seems really weird is not in the book. The book is simply Hubbard's perspective on mental health if I remember correctly. It's been a long time though and I didn't study the book thoroughly.
