Doesn’t mean that at all - at least not the empathy part. I can’t put myself in the mindset of an atheist, though, so can’t say I understand them.

You know who else felt the same way? Solomon, considered by some to be the wisest man who ever lived.

Just check the last chapter of Ecclesiastes.

Most have trouble that God is good, and we are not; it is the most frightening thing about God. It is more than that even; God is the prime reality. He created it all and holds it all together. He is love. He reached into this universe, became one of us then laid down His life for us; we can accept that or live out our lives apart from Him, which when we leave this life will mean forever.

From my perspective, yes. I’m not an atheist, obviously don’t speak for them and don’t know their mindset.
