You do interpret it in your own way. You choose not to accept the full meaning of the passage because it was given to a church.
Jesus doesn’t specify believers only he says anyone. This is the context that it should be taken in. Not everybody who goes to a church is a believer, and Jesus was telling his audience that he is here for everyone.

Acts 4:12 (King James Version)
12 "Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we MUST be saved."
Acts 4:12 (New International Version)
12 "Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we MUST be saved."
If you believe, you will recieve whatever you ask for in prayer.
Josh 1:7

I would say that the one who was destined to marry the girl would be favored by God. The one who wasn’t will get over it.
This may seem like it refutes the verse, but this depends on how you looks at it. The one that gets rejected prayed for what he thought would be the perfect wife. Perhaps he’ll still get the perfect wife it just won’t be the one he thinks it is.
God can see far more than we can. Perhaps if he had gotten the girl he wanted they both would have been miserable.
