I do think that asking "what has God done for me lately" is kind of missing the point. Assume for the moment that God do ...[text shortened]... I don't believe in God just so he can 'do nice things' for me.
EDIT: Plus, as Chesterton might say, what hasn't God done for me today? I woke up today with all my hands and feet; with enough to drink and enough to eat.
