I actually agree with you, you are arguing with some one else. Spain is the World Champion, the Miami Heat are the NBA Champs.
I'm just stating the obvious when I point out that the NBA Championship is the more prestigious title. Pau Gasol doesn't even want to play in the World event next time, because he feels it detracts from his ability to play f ...[text shortened]... el free to codify them for the Palynka 'world Championships' of what ever sport you choose.

198 countries tried to qualify for the world cup in germany in 2006; it was watched by over 3 billion people and from five continents, doesn't this make the world series (shouldnt it be called the usa series..?) look rather small..? also, i have no idea who won the world series, when it is or who's in it, it's never on the news, never in the papers... ...[text shortened]... americans accept the fact the biggest sporting event in the world belongs to the world cup..?

I would say that on any given day we could beat or tie any team in the world. After all, we tied Italy 1-1 and they went on to win the whole thing.
The US is quite respectable at football. The fact that they are so good at so many other sports is what makes it weird to see them being so average on the most popular sport in the world. It's about perceptions, really.

Are we talking about field hockey that game that girls play in skirts?
it is mind-numbing arguing with you. There are 110 countries in the International Baseball Federation. I know Cricket seems very important in England. Do they play it seriously anywhere else in Europe? NO

Yes, the Netherlands, Ireland, Italy.

Yes, the Netherlands, Italy.
Realistically, it is played in four or five countries: England, India, Pakistan/Bangladesh, and Australia.
At the very highest level alone, it is played in twice that number of countries. South Africa, Zimbabwe, New Zealand, Sri Lanka and the West Indies (actually several countries represented by a combined team) being the other participants.

I didn't feel that in this years world cup that any team really stood out. Italy won, but they hardly dominated. Portugal was exciting. France seemed like the best team most of the way. Brazil looked out-of-synch for most of the tournament.
Name one team that was clearly better than average.
