Greece are European Champions.
For you to call it World Series it must be open to all countries with access through either qualification or rankings. If not, it's a travesty (no, I'm not talking about darvlay).
Who won?
Greece??? You want to send Greece to the World's Series? (Maybe the Little League World Series.) It is fascinating how parochial our European Cousin's have become.

You do know that Greece is part of Europe and, not only that, it's part of the World too!
I'm starting to think your parish is smaller than ours.

It's the World Series. They won't change the name, and don't need to. The best players in the world play MLB baseball. I look forward to Boston’s new acquisition from Japan... Daisuke Matsuzaka. The guy has got like 5 different pitches to keep the other best players in the WORLD swinging at nothing.
With luck Boston will keep The Man Ram also, I don ...[text shortened]... to see him going to the Angels. Ortiz would suffer without his protection, for sure!

As a wise man once said... Man, you're thick. You do realise that Red Night is talking about baseball, right?

I hate having to explain everything.

They paid $51,000,000 just for the right to negotiate with that guy!!
They could have bought a couple of dozen cricket teams instead.
Wait...
Quiet you@!
They stand to make 30M a year on Japan TV. As long as his contract is near 4 year 40M the rest is ok. I hope they sign him.
My guess is 4 years near 52M. He better live up to it also, Sox fan couldn't care less how much Red Sox make in Japan TV cash. They consider it spent cash.

I remembered they did pretty well in the Olympics, but I forgot who won the Olympic title. (Who did win the gold?)
Who won the World's Championship in Baseball then? (Not the World Series which has been played for 100 years, the new one that just started.)

more to the point it would seem any yank isnt interested in what goes on outside their country
I can certainly tell you more about the Premier league than you can tell me about the National League.
Just because I don't follow some of the more minor sports like curling, luging, and cricket doesn't mean I'm opposed to them on geographic lines. It just means that, like most of the rest of the world, I don't find them interesting.

You just want to smugly attack Americans and perpetuate a fallacy that people in the US are ignorant bumpkins.
