For you to call it World Series it must be open to all countries with access through either qualification or rankings. If not, it's a travesty (no, I'm not talking about darvlay).
Wasn't there a pseudo-world's championship of some sort recently?

Who won?

Greece??? You want to send Greece to the World's Series? (Maybe the Little League World Series.) It is fascinating how parochial our European Cousin's have become.

Greece had their chance to be there, like every member of FIFA.

You do know that Greece is part of Europe and, not only that, it's part of the World too!

I'm starting to think your parish is smaller than ours.

It's the World Series. They won't change the name, and don't need to. The best players in the world play MLB baseball. I look forward to Boston’s new acquisition from Japan... Daisuke Matsuzaka. The guy has got like 5 different pitches to keep the other best players in the WORLD swinging at nothing.

With luck Boston will keep The Man Ram also, I don ...[text shortened]... to see him going to the Angels. Ortiz would suffer without his protection, for sure!

Man, you're thick. Being the best league is irrelevant.

As a wise man once said... Man, you're thick. You do realise that Red Night is talking about baseball, right?

Of course, unless the Blue Jays are a football club. His mentioning of Greece was because of football, and that's what I responded too.

I hate having to explain everything.

They paid $51,000,000 just for the right to negotiate with that guy!!

They could have bought a couple of dozen cricket teams instead.
LOL!

Wait...

Quiet you@!

They stand to make 30M a year on Japan TV. As long as his contract is near 4 year 40M the rest is ok. I hope they sign him.

My guess is 4 years near 52M. He better live up to it also, Sox fan couldn't care less how much Red Sox make in Japan TV cash. They consider it spent cash.

I mentioned Greece in response to a comment by you. I thought you were saying Greece was the World's Champs in Baseball.

I remembered they did pretty well in the Olympics, but I forgot who won the Olympic title. (Who did win the gold?)

Who won the World's Championship in Baseball then? (Not the World Series which has been played for 100 years, the new one that just started.)

Not true. I can tell you lots about the World Cup and various other Football leagues. We get a variety of games on the Telly over here!
I can certainly tell you more about the Premier league than you can tell me about the National League.

Just because I don't follow some of the more minor sports like curling, luging, and cricket doesn't mean I'm opposed to them on geographic lines. It just means that, like most of the rest of the world, I don't find them interesting.

I'm hearing that the guy is great. Just as long as he doesn't lob it in at 60 mph like that "Mr. Zero" guy.

What a fascinating, yet moronic, generalization. For example, many Yanks have read _Eats, Shoots, and Leaves_ by an author from your side of the Atlantic. Might I suggest you buy a copy and read it?

well, okay, maybe that was a bit harsh, but i think it would be fair to say there are a hell of a lot of americans out there who are very navie when it comes to the outside world

You can make the same statement about people in Britain, China, Germany, Thailand, Brazil, Portugal, Greece, Egypt, India, Australia,...

You just want to smugly attack Americans and perpetuate a fallacy that people in the US are ignorant bumpkins.

No idea. I don't like baseball. Maybe I'm missing the point.
