So far there only seem to be 3 timeouts, and 2 of those were someone desperate for a win in a tourney round. Most of us will let the games play out so long as he moves occasionally, I suspect. Real life does have a habit of intruding on these projects ...

I dont believe that I have timed out in any games yet, and will try very hard not too! Will still try to finish through my games as swiftly as possible.

Cheers

I will be doing neither cheating or abusing, I will play 100% within the rules and the implied rules.

The other two were accused of cheating and abusing the system due to their use of the vacation settings.

I will play normally, within the rules and timeframes and still finish as many games as possible as quickly as possible,
Interesting thread.
1. You can't abuse the vacation system. The days for vacation are there for whenever, and however you choose to use them. For whatever reason.

2. Calling and accusing people of being cheats is against the RHP rules.

I agree there should be a limit of games in progress, say 500 or something like that. Some just can't control them selfs.

I'm not sure of the point of your post to be honest, is it just a precis of previous thoughts?

Why 500 games? It seems an arbitary figure, why not 400, or 750? Whats the logic behind 500?

I was responding to your following quote from a previous post.
The other two were accused of cheating and abusing the system due to their use of the vacation settings.
I was just stating the facts here on RHP about this quote. Nothing towards you, just referring towards the whiners who called this two cheats and said they were abusing the vacation system.

I said 500 or something. Any of your numbers would be fine with me. Any number that would be fair to all and not let someone way overload themselves with to many games so as to affect others.

How does affect you that he has so many games? I mean if you're playing him then you can claim timeout, win for you how can you be annoyed at that. And pay some respect, he's tried something no person has every done on redhotpawn๐Ÿ™‚

Not true. At least one other person, Atri, has made it to 2,000 games. He melted down, let his subscription lapse. Surtism decided to take on the challenge to prove that it could be done WITHOUT abusing the vacation system. Abuse is defined as playing virtually non-stop while hiding behind the protection of the vacation flag to avoid timeout losses.

Surtism does deserve respect for playing honorably and keeping his games alive without resorting to vacation flag antics. But what he has proven, by his own admission, is that 2,000 games is too many games to maintain if one has any semblance of a life outside of RHP.

I'm amazed that Surtism has managed to go on for this long without a single timeout loss and for that I salute him. With as many outstanding games as he has with timebank expired, it's likely not if but when that feat will come to an end.

I hope he will bring his project to a good end ๐Ÿ˜‰
I wish Surtism everything, that he finish his games by a normal play ๐Ÿ™‚

Where on this site is that definition?

It's not part of the TOS, but the definition of abuse is described in at least the 3rd, 4th, and 5th post within this thread.

Surtism defined abuse in the taking on of the challenge and stated he would not engage in such abuse and very much to his credit, he is as good as his word.

So, what is abuse? If I go on holiday and find somewher ewith an intenet connection, shouldn't I play? The advice on the site is that a player should take more days timebank than tbey are on holiday for to ensure they have a chance to catch up on games, so playing games whilst the vacation flag is on is approved by the owners of the site. Where does abuse begin or end?
