So how many checkboxes did we tick in this thread. I can't read all the crap because it's depressing.
Just from the first few posts i see we have
"More cops", "Arm teachers". I see Hitler was mentioned which makes me suspect someone said "holocaust wouldn't have happened if the jews had guns".
Did we get "thoughts and prayers yet"? How about "Now is not the time to talk about guns, so soon after this tragedy"?
@vivify saidAn 18 year old who couldn't legally buy a pack of cigarettes or a beer, apparently legally purchased an AR-15, loads of high capacity magazines and body armor.
This shooter just turned 18 a few days ago. The Buffalo shooter was also 18, the Parkland Shooter was 19 and the Sandy Hook shooter was 20. The Columbine shooters were 18 and 17.
Something is wrong with our young people. I'm not sure what, but they need help we're not giving to them.
I think the last two should be banned from civilian purchase and an 21 year old limit placed on the purchase of "assault" rifles.

I think we need to do this with mass shooters. They don't deserve fame, infamy, or any sort of recognition. Letting mass shooters be forgotten will stop the copycats and and attention seekers who want the world to know their anger.

Ain't a bad idea.
I remember the National Football League had a ...[text shortened]... .
But why not give it a try here? just NEVER mention the name or show the pic, if that is all legal

@vivify saidIs it really the kids or the parents? You know, the ones teaching their kids that they're oh, so special.

How many more kids have to die?
England and Australia opted for gun control after ONE major school shooting.
HOW MANY MORE have to die?
I mean, at Sandy Hook, TWENTY six-year-olds were killed. If anything was gonna do it, that should've been the wake up call. That was December 14, 2012. 2012!
Maybe these parents should sue the Federal Government for wrongful death.
But maybe they'll have to wait until we get humans on the Supreme Court again.
And these Republicans are crying about being "Pro-Life"?? Hypocrites, all.
@no1marauder saidAgreed, but there's no chance that will ever change in Texas.

I would like you to check this twitter handle. They replied to each NRA whore who tweeted thoughts and prayers and condolences and fuk all else with just how much money they each got as bribes from the NRA
The disgusting thing is just up the road, the NRA is having their National Convention in Houston this week.
Okay, okay, they're calling it their "Annual Meeting". The biggest Republicans will be there with their hands out for their 30 pieces of silver.
There are always going to be crazy people and the societal issues that cause these things to happen are very difficult to deal with, but we can start with a serious ban on weapons that are capable of causing this sort of damage.
I'm not saying this will stop 100% of school shootings, but it will probably prevent at least 50% of school shooting deaths.
@capacrapa saidYep. e.g. https://www.npr.org/2020/06/23/881608999/why-theres-a-push-to-get-police-out-of-schools
No cops at schools was a Democrat platform I seem to remember? 🤔
But that was when when the tide of public opinion was against cops, so it's okay.
Now that the public has changed their focus, the democrats can take a different stance and it's perfectly fine.
Republicans hold the same view no matter what the latest fad is even if it's not popular at the time.
