@sonhouse saidIf you say so... a bit of a stretch. since they be military and roads and.... well, you got me on the spot, let's try this
You mean when I say the word 'agency' you don't think of the government?
There is no single, definitive number for how many government agencies exist, as the total varies based on the definition of "agency" used, but in the United States federal government, the number is in the hundreds. Sources cite different figures, with listings from the United States Government Manual showing 96 independent executive units and 220 components within executive departments, while a Consumer Financial Protection Bureau listing for USA.gov indicates 137 independent executive agencies and 268 units in the cabinet.
Factors contributing to the varying counts:
Different definitions of an agency:
The term "agency" can encompass large cabinet departments, independent agencies, regulatory commissions, and even sub-agencies within a larger department.
Inclusion of components vs. entire units:
Some tallies count individual components of departments, while others only count the primary departments themselves.
Focus on specific types:
Lists might focus on specific areas like the 18 organizations that make up the U.S. Intelligence Community, or the 15 leaders of cabinet-level departments.
Examples of U.S. government agencies:
Cabinet Departments:
.
There are 15 cabinet-level executive departments, such as the Department of Defense, the Department of Homeland Security, and the Department of Justice.
Independent Executive Agencies:
.
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) are examples of independent agencies.
Sub-agencies:
.
The Department of Homeland Security, for example, includes several constituent agencies like U.S. Customs and Border Protection and the Transportation Security Administration.

@sonhouse saidI jus googled, but I knew the answer would be hundreds!! I wish you/sue had just said what agency you refer to. Libs make posting arduous. So, just what agency IS it that loans out millions of our dollars to desrving recipients, getting their promises to repay the money back into the Treasury, a promise which you say can be broken, broken promises being lies, which Sue abhors? You two can really put a guy in knots. I am as angry as No1Marauder today!!! ðŸ˜
I bow to your extreme knowledge of agencies
You and Marauder say it is OK for a borrower to lie, and not pay the loan back, yet Sue abhors lies. And we conservatives are supposed to accept this as logic??
@AverageJoe1 saidWhat lies are you talking about? Where did you get the idea we would approve of borrowers lying?

@sonhouse saidA promissory note is put before a borrower at time of disbursement of a loan. It is wha we call a Promise To Pay, ,,,,imagine that.

I, and you and certainly our lie expert Suzianne, know that is clearly a lie to promise something knowing that you will not fulfill it.
So, I drag-ass over to google and apprise you of this. You 2 will wear a man out.
When Breaking a Promise is a Lie
Premeditated Deception:
You made the promise with the full intention of not following through, knowing you would break it.
Misrepresentation of Ability:
You promised to do something knowing you didn't have the capability or resources to do it.
@AverageJoe1
Y'all need to abandon this ship, it is sinking.. Start a thread that you know you can win.
@AverageJoe1 saidThere's no "premediated deception" here so you're full of crap.

Wrong out of the gate. I have never used the word forgiving a post. You have. I don’t even know what it means. Suzanne, can you jump in here between the two of us and tell us what forgiveness means …in the lending world that is …I don’t mean like when you are forgiving the slime cretin brother on the train that killed the girl. We can of course, stipulate that if the ...[text shortened]... he government. I have asked marauder 50 times what is the nature of that $10,000 which was not paid.
Jim has a $100,000 student loan from the government. The government decides to forgive $10,000 of it. The government is out $10,000 of anticipated future revenue.
Same thing even though your ability to understand this is zero.
@no1marauder saidHere we have someone who, just out of hand, says that a borrower is certainly NOT pre-disposed to NOT pay the loan back

How does he know that??? Reminds me of the themos bottle...it keeps cold things cold, and hot things hot.....HOW does the thremos bottle KNOW!?!??

You, Sonhouse and Sue need to huddle. Let's quit with all of these, I am not seeing much, we will lose audience. Here comes a thread about capitalism vs socialism, best me on that one!!!!
Before we begin, a poll today shows 66% favor socialism over capitalism. Would I not LOVE to know the lifestyles of those people.

He will not be paying the loan due. That evening, the bank closes its doors, and is out $10,000.00
The bank asks the town council to give them $10k to cover the loss, and the council tells the bank to take a hike.
