It's excursions into Serbia, Libya, Iraq, Afghanistan and elsewhere prove that.
That's a separate topic that didn't concern Russia in the slightest. At best, this is a criticism of NATO as an alliance, and not a point regarding Russia's relationship to NATO...unless you really think Russia was bothered by NATO excisions in countries like Iraq, which would be false.

@vivify

Have you seen the list of Nato countries?
Most are in and around Europe. Right close to Russia...and expanding.

They don't care about Africa or Australia or some small countries in South America...

No....they just want to encircle Russia and be right next to China.

Your "membership to Nato" comment is laughable.
They only want countries near the supposed enemy so they can have weapons right next to the enemy.

Your an idiot NATO unlike Russia does not force or coerce neighbouring countries into joining it. Countries join it to spare themselves the horror of the Russian jackboot on their necks whilst Russian bombs, planes and missiles murder their children.
Name one country that NATO has coerced into membership.
Russia has encircled itself with countries that fear its expansive fascistic history and they have every right to huddle together for protection.
Ukraine and it’s fate is the best argument for the existence of NATO and it’s the Russian jackboot that has made the argument.
Now Finland and Sweden are putting aside a 70yr policy of non alignment because they, unlike some pro Putin sycophantic halfwits on this forum, see thst under Putin Russia is on the March west again.

@kevcvs57

My point was they are only accepting countries that are near Russia and China.
That is aggression.
Look at the Nato countries map after you've finished eating fatty.

Encircle Russia?? Hahahaha. You've seen Russia on the globe haven't you. Please tell us how one encircles Russia because that would be some trick.

Maybe just maybe there is a reason small nations that happen to reside next to Russia (unfortunately for them) have willingly joined NATO for a reason? Just a thought ....

@Ullr

How come African countries plagued by war aren't accepted?

Oh ya...Nato only wants countries that are near Russia and China.

Lets see...

Canada is on the other side of the north pole so that covers the north.
Europe to the west of Russia...

And Ukraine to the south....

That is encirclement.

Okay sorry.

I just realized your posts have to be complete sarcasm. They're just too damn funny to be serious. Why don't African countries join NATO. LOL. Geee I can't imagine why.

It's not worth discussing this any further with such a purveyor of hysterical nonsense and one so willing to outright lie about the positions of others.

If you get your way and cooler heads don't prevail, we're all likely to sifting out from a nuclear ash heap.
And your yelling outright lies even whiles Putin is murdering children.
The difference between you and I is that I did not excuse the invasion of Iraq, I did not try to blame the Iraqis or some other random organisation for Britain's involvement in.
You do realise that the limited bombing of Serbia was done under UN sanction and that 2nd Iraq war was NOT a nato led war, it was a ‘coalition of the willing’ because Bush junior had unfinished family business there.
So please name a conflict that NATO actually involved itself in that was not sanctioned by the UN?
Afghanistan was in response to the US invoking section 5 of the NATO charter.
Please stop with the hyperbolic emotional anti NATO rants, it’s not going anywhere until authoritarian scumbags like Putin are safely in the ground.
Oh and if you could cite an incidence of any NATO member even threatening to invade Russia that would be very helpful.

Yes....hence the "North Atlantic" in their name.

They don't care about Africa or Australia or some small countries in South America...

"North Atlantic".

They only want countries near the supposed enemy

Then why are countries like Portugal and Denmark part of NATO? Why is the UK Part of NATO?

Oh well your right and I’ve just noticed that the uk is encircled by Scandinavia to the north with France to the south and I’m pretty sure there are definitely some other people to the east and west. Right that’s it I’m going to invade the nearest one and put my nukes on high alert 🙄

Portugal and Denmark are close to Russia.

Nato is only interested in countries near Russia and China.

I guess you're right about the North Atlantic thingy...

Touche 😉

You don't think NATO's dismemberment of Serbia didn't "concern Russia in the slightest"?

Yes, it's a criticism of NATO that it transformed itself into an aggressive force being used for the neocon agenda of Western esp. US world domination. And if you really think Russia isn't bothered by that at all, you are sadly misinformed.

Calling NATO expansion "aggressive" makes no sense. No one is forced to become part of NATO, membership must be requested. Ukraine voluntarily sought to become part of NATO; that can hardly be considered "aggressive" expansion.

Given Russia's long and frequent history of invasions (Afghanistan, Georgia, Czechoslovakia, etc.), NATO membership, even post USSR., was quite ...[text shortened]... y membership into NATO is "aggressive expansion", what do you call Russia's many military invasions?
Are you serious? Russia's incursions into other countries, as unjustified as they may be, pales in comparison to the record the US, UK, France and other countries in NATO has amassed regarding military meddling in other countries.
