"The FAA has long outsourced some of its oversight to authorized Boeing employees, despite criticism from safety advocates. Defenders of the practice say the FAA has limited resources and so it has to depend on the expertise of Boeing and other manufacturers for self-certification."
Thank the GOP for limiting resources to regulate industry in every sector. Stop your racist blaming non white workers for the failures YOU have created when you vote for conservatives.

@phranny saidWell what you’re describing is, in effect, deregulation.. Getting a for profit business to check up on themselves to make sure they are prioritising safety over profit, or even getting a balance is like getting a wolf to guard the sheep.

@kevcvs57 saidDepends who you listen to, but Boeings troubles started when they took over McDonnell Douglass and then the McDonnell Douglass sales and marketing culture took over Boeing.

Also Boeing CEO David Calhoun is a disciple of Jack Welsh who took GE to great heights before destroying it. Welsh's brand of corporate greed is profit over everything, which is great for shareholders for a while until people work out that it's innovation and great products that make great companies, not hype, cost cutting and financial engineering.

here is the problem…
“At its best, transportation can be a powerful engine of opportunity, connecting people to jobs, education, and resources—whether they live in a big city, a rural community, or anywhere in between. Ensuring equity and accessibility for every member of the traveling public is one of the Department of Transportation’s highest priorities. – Secretary Pete Buttigieg“

I think you're just pissed that he wrote that DEIA statement without once using the word "woke".

@kevcvs57 saidIjit, they receive profit from a clean safety record, regardless of regs. These recent two events cost them big time, a previous Boeing exec has stated publicly he won't fly the Max, he'd rather stay on the ground and wait for another aircraft.

As usual Bamboozle is bamboozled.
@mott-the-hoople saidIt's Pete Buttigieg's fault that the Max 9's screws were loose?

@wajoma saidSouthwest Airlines is grounding their own MAX crafts for 2024 and have cancelled all orders for MAX with Boeing.
