@sonhouse saidWas part of your military career screwing in light bulbs too? You know what lose screws do?
@Earl-of-Trumps
Now it seems they found the door that flew off was MISSING 4 screws, not loose but never installed. Boing, Boing, gone🙂
They come out, so take that to the sun with your nuclear machines science boy..
@wajoma saidHey bright spark they can tell if a bolt or self tapping screw has never been used as opposed to one that was placed in and came out later.

@earl-of-trumps saidIt's actually comforting that this was a mismanufacture case rather than a mid-design case. Mistakes in manufacturing happen (though of course the company is liable), but it would be much worse if it were a design flaw.
I saw that, the bolts were never installed.
The two companies that are involved in this, a manufacturer and an installer are in deep trouble
but Boeing - in the end,,, is the most responsible.
@sh76 saidI have to say, Athens is a cool place. The whole downtown feels like one enormous bustling street bazaar (at least on a Sunday afternoon). Though, I'll observe that the homeless problem there seems every bit as bad as in major US cities.
About 11 hours.
Longest flight I was ever on was ORD-HKG and then returning HKG-EWR (about 16 hours each). Flies right over the North Pole - cool in more ways than one.
Sunday I have TLV-ATH and then Monday ATH-FRA-EWR and then home. After almost 2 weeks away, I have to say I'm looking forward to it.
