They attacked rebels in their own country and suddenly Russia invades. You may not agree with what the Georgians did, but to think the Russian invasion is justified is a whole other matter.

Arguments shouldn't be swallowed, they should be refuted if one can do it. "Submarines in the North Pole, jets invading air space of neighbors, etc." certainly have nothing to do with the topic but if you insist. Expedition to the North Pole was a scientific one and Russia said that its claims on some underwater resources will not be unilateral but will be ...[text shortened]... definitely there isn't and wasn't systematical violation of any Russia's neighbors space.
Even better, I'll join you if you just can't accept the historical facts of Russia as a predator country, a cancer for the region:
- Russia is the greatest nation on earth
- Russia is the supreme race
- Russia should have never lost its empire
- Russia should rule the world
- Russia is saint and innocent
- Russia kicks ass
Ah, I already feel better! I can't wait for the Red Army to try again to conquer Finland! Wow!

Evidently, these two links support the assertion that the paramilitary units came from the north first. Notice the date on the first one, it mentions them on Thursday, well before Georgia starting fighting:

I don't think Bablefish does a very good of a job on translating these.

Bottom line....Georgia should've waited, they don't have right on their side right now.

No, the Russian troops moved in only after Georgia attacked. Georgia attacked because the Russian peace keepers were not doing their job and were allowing large number of paramilitary troops to enter the region from Russia.
