As I'm sure you know, members of the military have never sworn allegiance or loyalty to Trump or to Hegseth.
Too bad for them that an utter jackass is the Commander in chief, and yet another jackass is Secretary of Defense.
I was a Spec 4 in the US Regular Army decades ago, and we are taught to respect the rank, not the person -- which I imagine has become increasingly difficult to do.
And let's consider that a lot of enlisted members might have joined the armed services because economically that might have seemed the best option for them -- and now during the shutdown they are still required to serve, but without pay -- and never mind whether they are one of the providers or the only provider for a young family -- while a multitude of jackasses in our government (who are suppose to serve us) play political chicken with all of our lives and livelihoods.

I imagine some here are old enough to remember some New Thought ideas from the early 20th century, one of which was assembling your "master-mind team" -- i.e., a team of complementary talents -- as a basis for greater success.
I don't see that happening with Trump and his loyalty tests and his threats. To be fair, I think Professor Windbag Obama was similar but in a different way -- he wasn't a team player either, because he was the smartest and most holographically aware person in D.C., therefore no need for a team or coordinating with Congress. Also: give the man a minute and he'll take 50 minutes. 😉
On my side, something needs to change for the better in this country -- not just at the top, but all over this land -- or I'm not going to want to live here any more.
