I had a friend that applied for SSI when he was just 50, he didn't sit around for hours either.

Bipolar and schizophrenia usually strike between 20-44 and the symptoms often make it impossible for those people to gain or remain employed. Very nasty diseases.
Most use Medicaid to pay for their medications.
Stopping their medications is a Bad Idea... 😳

I know no more about waste than you do and what I read in the newspapers so nothing to chat about that. Certainly, you know that there is a lot of waste.
