So at some point in the timeline the Byzantine Empire took possession of the land of Palestine. They were the owners at that point. Then other Empires did the same going right up to the Ottoman Empire. They also had ownership of Palestine and governed the territory.

Apparently when the British Empire overthrew the Ottomans, that is where people had the problem of ownership, because it is the British that saw it fit to give a portion of Palestine to the Jews. All along the Empire had all rights, but rights are removed if land is being given to the Jews.

The Byzantines were an extension of the Roman Empire. They owned the land because Rome conquered it.

Of course and then the Greeks came next? Or whoever. The point is these Empires all owned the Levant region which includes Palestine. When the British Empire owned it and passed on part to the Jews then came the uproar.

The Greeks under Alexander took the land around 330 BCE. The Byzantines were also a Greek-Roman fusion.
