@no1marauder saidYou should perhaps read my post or are you now asking four more than the pre invasion position as Putins representative here.
I suspect the Ukraine will probably get a worse deal then the one they apparently walked out on in March.
Western leaders, including Biden, should be willing to sit at a summit with Putin and Zelensky and attempt to pressure both into some acceptable compromise. It would take political courage (I can hear the Kev's of the world screaming "Munich!" ) but it might be the ...[text shortened]... out of a drawn out conflict that is destroying the Ukraine and inflicting worldwide economic damage.
How much of Ukraine will it take to get Putins murderous invasion force to stop killing Ukrainian men women and children.
@kevcvs57 saidMaybe The CIA will be able to orchestrate a coup.

We likely have Russian Generals telephones jingling.
Might be the only time a CIA sponsored coup
was really in the best interests of the targeted country.
@kevcvs57 saidSuch irrational emotionalism might make you feel better, but the payment in blood and treasure to help your psychological issues isn't worth a prolonged war in the Ukraine.

@kevcvs57 saidThat is ridiculous.
Neither can Russia their army is not up to the task, that was obvious after the first couple of weeks.
At the rate Russia is gaining territory they will have everything east of the Dnieper river in less than a year. Then what? Are going to claim Russia is not up to the task of taking all of Ukraine?
Are you in denial that the Mariupol steel plant was a surrender too? Are you still fooling yourself into thinking it was an evacuation? Now Russia has more prisoners than Ukraine does and they can get all their captured soldiers back in a prisoner swap and still put some of those Azov nazis on trial for war crimes.
It is time for you to acknowledge Russia's recent huge victory. When Russia gets their captured soldiers back they will be able to tell the Russian people how they were treated.

Russia will have a great propaganda tool to demonize Ukraine when they get their captured soldiers back. The Ukrainians tortured them.
@jimm619 saidRussian generals are dying like flies in Ukraine and if they challenge Putin they are likely to be put in prison for the rest of their lives or assassinated. Russian tradition is to sacrifice military competence to enforce loyalty to the dictator.

@no1marauder saidNorthern Ireland has never bitterly opposed the British occupation.
In all those cases, the population of the rebellious areas bitterly opposed the occupiers.
It's pretty clear that isn't true in the Crimea, doubtful it's true in the Donbass and unclear whether it's true in the other areas presently under Russian control.
At present, it's a conventional war and one that Ukraine cannot prevail in absent direct Western intervention (w ...[text shortened]... misery and destruction on it for little purpose except to make Westerners like you beat your chest.
@no1marauder saidThe same use that the north American continent was to the Anglo-Americans before it was developed. The same use that the Nazis expected to put the land to after they depopulated it of Slavs. Build it up again and make a new economy.
What use is land if your population is decimated and your economy is in ruins?
@no1marauder saidIsn't that for the Ukranians to decide?
Such irrational emotionalism might make you feel better, but the payment in blood and treasure to help your psychological issues isn't worth a prolonged war in the Ukraine.
@no1marauder saidThe world is funding this war by giving Ukraine the weapons that have been stockpiled for decades for the specific purpose of destroying Russian tank columns should Russia get aggressive. This is what those weapons are for. They're not going to do any good in warehouses when the enemy they were always intended for is attacking.
Not if they want the world to fund it.
@athousandyoung saidIF the West wants war with Russia, it should get off its a** and declare it.

@no1marauder saidWhat if the West doesn't want war but wants to supply weapons to local nations that want to defend themselves? What should they do then?

@athousandyoung saidFight to the last Ukrainian?

How noble.
Of course, they are also accepting all the economic damage to themselves their insistence on the quixotic goal of "winning" the war against Russia entails.

@no1marauder saidDid you oppose sending Stingers to the Taliban when the USSR invaded Afghanistan? Seemed to work pretty well. Even losing the Twin Towers in blowback was a fairly minor price to pay considering the USSR collapsed around a decade later.
