You really don't follow military operations very closely; Russian troops are advancing steadily in Lukhansk, are close to taking the key city of Severodonetsk and could encircle the Ukrainian forces on the eastern front line in the Donbass within days:

It is certainly not the business of a bunch of Neville Chamberlain wannabees .
@no1marauder saidLike the Budapest Memorandum?
I suppose some internationally supervised plebiscites in the various territories could be put on the table along with security guarantees for both the Ukraine and Russia.
There's a deal to be made IMO.
That kind of security "guarantees"?
@no1marauder
In other words your advice to Zelinsky is to just surrender and face the inevitable firing squad, unless he is raped first?
@sonhouse saidYeah that's exactly what I said.

The level of lying the war mongers are willing to stoop to here is contemptible.
@caissad4 saidIf the TV show President of the Ukraine wants to run his country to ruin because that's what helps his boffo ratings in the West, that's his call.

But why the People in the US should indefinitely pay for his folly is something none of the war mongers have explained.
@kevcvs57 saidOleksiy Arestovych, an adviser to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, hasn't gotten the same memo you have:
No Russia will lose this war Ukraine has already won this war by surviving as a sovereign state. Russia on the other hand has gone and got itself gut shot, it takes a long time to bleed out but it will bleed out. The Russians are digging in, their only hope of further advances are along the southern coast to Odesa, any positions they gain will be subject to constant bombardm ...[text shortened]... ore to ship missile capacity it looks like there will be a hard and costly Odesa campaign for Putin.
"He said that the Russian side had "managed to accumulate reserves before we did" and that the lag in accumulating military resources "makes the situation at the front extremely difficult."
He also warned that in the near future, "the situation at the front will worsen, encirclements are possible" coming with it the prospect of settlements being abandoned and "heavy losses.""

@caissad4 saidIf they choose to fight to their last dying breathe they should do it with their own money. That latest money package could have paid for repairing all of our bridges. Instead it is being used to kill people.

You are implying the Russians want to steal homes. That is nonsense.
@no1marauder saidYour a war monger too you just happen to be Putin’s war monger. How can zelenski talk about peace when Putin is still pushing for more land and demolishing civilian areas?
Yeah that's exactly what I said.
The level of lying the war mongers are willing to stoop to here is contemptible.
The whole thrust of your argument is that the west should stop arming Ukraine and force them at gun point to accept defeat by Putin. Stop pretending to be a neutral peace advocate because no one believes you No1.
@no1marauder saidExactly why we need to give Ukraine bigger and better weaponry right now.

If you are going to believe every statement that war cabinets make then hey I’ve got a bridge you can buy.
Russia lost this war in terms of its initial aims in the first month of the conflict it’s now trying to secure its position in the Dombas and ice it has it will start pushing along the coast to Odesa. You heard it here first.
@kevcvs57 saidI'm in favor of a negotiated peace; you're in favor of a hopeless, prolonged war with all the death, misery and world economic dislocation that it is causing and will cause in the future.

Those are the facts, Kev and your lying and name calling doesn't change them.
@metal-brain saidSo the truth finally comes out . You and No1 are really only concerned about the money . How quaint . Sure glad you 2 were not around to advise the French during the American Revolution .

Patrick Henry had a famous quote from the American Revolution which I am sure you both would disagree with .
@no1marauder saidNo you are lying and misrepresenting my stance again after I have repeatedly said I think Ukraine should and ultimately would accept roughly the pre invasion map and accept the loss of the eastern Donbas and Crimea but nothing Putin has gained due to his latest atrocity.

You on the other hand are very hard to pin down on just how much land Ukraine must cede and how much autonomy the post war Ukraine is allowed to have from Moscow in terms of nato and eu membership.
Perhaps you’ll take this opportunity to make your position as clear as mine.
@caissad4 saidNo MB would spend every penny the US had and sacrifice the whole of Europe if it meant Putin gets what he wants. Listen to his faux shock horror at the suggestion his hero Putin would steal peoples homes let alone purposefully kill them in those homes with high explosive ordnance. Both of these posters are supporting the mass murder and annihilation of Ukrainians and the Ukrainian state. One doesn’t surprise me at all but I cannot figure out the motivation of the other.
So the truth finally comes out . You and No1 are really only concerned about the money . How quaint . Sure glad you 2 were not around to advise the French during the American Revolution .

@Chris-Guffogg
Thimking about this quite a bit now. I'm disturbed at the fact this is nothing more or less, a bloody slaughter.
