@AverageJoe1 saidSo from your perspective, illegal undocumented workers were only a problem under Biden?
My overall answer to you, though, is that we have gotten along for 250 years without illegals, until Biden became president, and opened up our border, he invited them in no matter what you say. Between him and his Border Czar, there was No action to control the border. Google THAT, little feller. Immigrants good, Illegal aliens, bad.
Finally, your reference ...[text shortened]... ed Their OWN wages. And of course in DOING so, caused the disruption of wages for our own citizens.
So the decades of Big Agriculture influencing both sides of government to turn a blind eye to them employing a hard working underpaid workforce, that didn't happen, but only under Biden?
When workers are unrepresented by any form of union, employers will pay the least amount that keeps labour in abundant supply. Having an illegal workforce allows employers to pay the least possible, because if the worker does not like it there is always someone else more desperate to do that work.
So no, unrepresented workers do not create their own wages.
For your own information, look up when farm hands on mass were American citizens. They haven't been for many a decade because no American in their right mind would work that hard for that little remuneration. But apparently it all happened under Biden's watch.
You must be drunk.
Businesses love illegal workers because it allows them to exploit their labour without any push back from the worker.
The issue is the whole economy is built on this low wage, hard working, compliant worker structure. So as Trump's policies target the workforce what do you think will happen to the cost to the economy of the agricultural sector?
But somehow American citizens will jump in and do the same work for the same low wage? Unless the workers get paid a more realistic wage American citizens will not do that work. And if companies pay higher wages across the board to attract American workers, what happens to the comparative advantage of the American Agribusiness?
But this is Trump's lack of business sense. You dont make drastic changes overnight and think the shocks to the system won't have dire consequences.
@kmax87 saidAnd never forget, Trump could not turn a profit when he ran a casino.

Trump only found true success when he was running a reality TV show. You know in the land of make believe. You should let that thought sink in.

@kmax87 saidBoy, you got me there. Yeah, they could have been a problem in 1935, we just didn't know about it, and.......hey, we don't need to know now. It is in our 2025 laps now, thank God you don't have Kamala. Seriously.

Thhis one expects us to absorb a mantra on what-all about agricuture et al. ...should be another forum for that. This is for short points to be made, Kmax. One would have to read up on all that.
Water seeks its own level, so do wages. And yes, biz loves illegal workers because they Make A Lot of Money. That flies right in a lib's face. I don't know what you mean by exploit, they are not slaves, and they can walk away. And you imply that a worker has right to push back against the employer. My maid has notright to push back against me.
Your next para waxes on about wages, a timeworn subject. The govt needs to stay the hell out and let free marker decide wages. Jesus. End of that one. Why, it looks like you want government regulation. I don't. Free enterprise, free market. You will fix it all, vote Mamdani.
You mention 'realistic wages' and Unions. We have been down this road. Unions are great, let them fight the corp bosses for better wages, it is none of our business, nor that of govt. Then you say that unless workers get a good wage, that they will not do the work. What? Some will, man. Or, if NO one will, corp will relent , or go bankrupt, Not our problem. Or do you want govt to bail them out? I though y'all were against bail. Actually, I am SURE that you are.
You wrap up., saying that somehow there should exists some sort of 'comparative advantage'. Really? Not in the constitution, for starters.
You end it with 'Trump's Lack of Business Sense!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" I think I will end it too.
Pitiful
@AverageJoe1 saidPretend tough guy.

@AverageJoe1 saidWhy not change the US motto from "E pluribus Unum" to "Weißen über alle"?

Write it in big letters all over every government building.
You gotta know Trump is thinking it.
@Suzianne saidi don't know what that means, dont care, i like what we got dont bother translating, been working for 250 years,.....and YOU, you, don't care about that. Neither does your blood bro Shav.

@AverageJoe1 saidWell what do you call it when your agri workforce is comprised of 50 to 70% of undocumented workers. It's not like they can complain about low wages can they. Cutting off all attempts to provide them with a legal standing has consistently been twarted in Congress.

And you say they are not being exploited?
You subscribe to a very inhumane social policy. But it seems you are oblivious to that.

@kmax87 saidFirst, it is good to hire immigrants. I would if I had a peach grove. Payroll palatable, I could make more money than US employees would cost me. Got it. But I will forever send people her illegally home, and deal with it from there.

Then you go to an ENTIRELY different issue, that of deciding how many aliens to allow in here (2 mil a year would be ok?}. Yes, let us decide how many, and setup a card table at the border. Surely you’d agree, and hopefully agree to thwart people trying to skip around the card table. This is ALL that I have EVER said on the forum. EVER.
EXPLOITED? Yes, if a guy comes in here uninvited, illegal, he is subject to whatever befalls him. He assumes a risk. We have no duty of care to him. He might get exploited by bad people, but he being illegal has no recourse. How could he, He needs to RUN back to the border, to, you guessed it, the card table. He gets waved in, a stamp on his wrist, and free to move about in our country, with no fear of exploitation.
You have been around Marauder too long.
@kmax87 saidZzzzzzzzzzzzz. So, only 94% successful. Damn, a lot better than I’ve done!,,

@AverageJoe1 saidAnd people to starve.
If 2 million is not enough, congress could make it 3M.
The law, man, the law. We need some real lawyers on the forum, not idiot bleeding hearts. We have a country to run,
@AverageJoe1 saidSo where was I advocating a quota? I think you were. But they are being employed year after year and helping the local economy with their productive effort, then logically they deserve to be given some sort of a pathway to residency/citizenship. That would be a just response.

EXPLOITED? Yes.
Why in this instance are you wary of the free-market determining how many workers are needed? The reality is that being logical about the numbers of workers needed is not politically palatable. So instead of being honest about worker needs you all play this game of turning a blind eye. It's pathetic and fools nobody.
