Every president spends more than the last president, that is normal process. The way of money, the way of investment, spend more to make more, and then consider the horror which Biden left, which you disingenuously pretend never happened, the billions that the illegal aliens cost us.
This very day your representatives (not Trump, YOUR reps) are threatening to shut do ...[text shortened]... his pants down at Epstein, praying for more hell in the government? What is wrong with you people?
Ok but now you defend Trump-led increases to the size of government, which I do not agree with, but when I stated it you called it a lie. You said he slashed the government size, but in fact that's the real lie coming from all your propaganda news sources.

And the every president does it line does not fly either. There are several analyses showing that trumps government has accelerated the growth in spending. E.g. compare 2023 to 2024 and the spendings almost the same. Now 2025 rolls around and we have a sudden $200 billion increase.

Two possibilities: government is getting bigger under Trump or his cronies are stealing it. Or both I guess. There are a lot more tax dollars going somewhere than there were under Biden.

The news from my sources are not propaganda, so you are wrong out of the gate. You are literally saying that the OPM agency of our government is reporting false information. Can you tell us who else (not any posters here, please) do not trust OPM reports? Why do they still exist if they are fraudulent? Why did not the great Biden not shut then down for fraud?
Most of your posts begin with random mis-statements.

Do you understand propaganda? It is a selective truth. They cut some jobs, but ignore all the efforts they have made to expand federal power and hire people in other areas. They have troops in the streets, do you think that's cheap? They have expanded ice powers, also not cheap. These things increased the size of government as a whole. The cuts to government in other areas like science have saved very little money but have done intense damage. I don't like that.

The OBBB was wildly irresponsible in adding dramatically to an already insane budget deficit.

That's exactly what Joe shared, y'all must be on the same Facebook thread.

The government is bragging about shedding less than 1% of the federal workforce. At the same time they have expanded spending for the federal government by $200 billion, ICE funding is 8x higher. Both of these things are true. The government is growing, and that growth has accelerated under trump.

You see where such posts lead. Imagine you and I and Maruader discussing what to do with government money. Cut here, add there. You see, you would give money to people, like that Yang guy who ran for president. "Give $1000 to each citizen'. You are of that ilk. I would say give money to NO ONE excpet the 50M destitute, everyone else fend for themselves. I guess htat irks hou because that means illegal people cannnot share in the bounty of Americans. Imagine that !!!
Marauder has suggested cutting military and using money for social programs. The phrase gives me heartburn.
Yeah, troops int eh street are not cheap. But get this...........payiing for the livlihood of people who illegally broke into this country? Not cheap. Let's dump one of them, what do you say? Do you want to support them, or have a strong military that can waste a 10-square yard facility of iran from 6000 miles away?

The "give money to each citizen" is the UBI idea (universal basic income). The theory is:

1. We have the resources to provide everyone with a minimal standard of living.
2. Let people decide how to consume resources rather than limiting welfare to specific goods and services, like earmarking them for food or housing.
3. Build a capitalist infrastructure on top of that; i.e., "you get the basics, but if you want something more than the basics, work for it"

Theoretically, the UBI could be instead of food stamps, HUD, Medicaid, etc., though it's doubtful that the UBI would be high enough to allow large poor families all of these benefits.

It's an interesting concept. The problem, of course, is:

a. funding it
b. whether giving everyone the same amount of cash will really provide the basics for everyone; i.e., a single person in Idaho Falls needs a very different income than a family in Queens.

Ultimately, if these issues can be dealt with and IF it can be funded, the UBI is an interesting idea, and is not at all a socialist principle. The UBI assumes a capitalist economy on top of the UBI.

I would rather trump spent less money than Democrats do on government. But he spends more. You talk about Democrat plans to waste money but somehow can't explain why a Republican government costs way more?

He has done about 8500 things maybe 1000 a month.

What else?
Does that tally include him having breakfast and playing golf?

Edit: North Koreans (mostly) believe the propaganda that their leader has only played golf once and went round an 18 hole golf course in 18 strokes (then immediately gave up golf) and that he never needs to go to the bathroom. - Is America slipping towards the same level of mass brainwashing when it comes to Trump?

I fear as much. (The next poster will confirm it).

@AverageJoe1
Could have done without the Gulf of America thing, but other than that, nothing.

It's not generalizing youre making stuff up. Trump's government is massive. He took Bidens government and made it much larger. See:

Well, my two cents is that they pulled funding from Job Corps. That is quite an oxymoron, when we are trying to get our young people into jobs.
So Sonhouse I do not love Trump . I do like the other 98% of his stuff. Nobody is perfect. And who is the turkey up there that just said Donald is not allowed to have breakfast?? or play golf? Or fly to Hawaii like Obama did to sit on the beach.

I believe it was 90 Job Corps locations that were found to be fraudulent, not training or placing anyone, just collecting money. Job Corps itself is still in operation last I heard.
