Here's a site with the spreads: http://www.docsports.com/football-odds.html
Alabama, Texas and USC are obvious mismatches; why put them in when everybody is going to pick the heavy favorite? Missouri is a 10.5 point pick and would be deleted under my criteria as well (though since its just above the line I suggested and Nebraska is home, ...[text shortened]... nford (who would have thought) at lousy, 3-1 Notre Dame. The Irish are favored by a touchdown.
Originally posted by shortcircuitTexas is a two touchdown favorite. How someone can leave out the Oregon State-Utah game is beyond me. If you guys insist on holding your breath till you true blue, count me as picking the favs in the three games mentioned, but pick the three games I added - they're all more interesting and more important to the BCS then the ridiculous BC-NC St. game. And if we're going for large point spread game, why not Penn St. at Purdue which is a far more important game than Illinois-Michigan (the Nittany Lions are favored by 12.5).

Originally posted by no1marauderHow do you like Jaquizz Rogers? He is a local kid from near me who was a helluva player in high school, but on the smallish side. I wondered if he would get gobbled up in college, but apparantly, USC didn't bother him too badly.

Originally posted by no1marauderI am not sure I agree with you negating the underdogs playing these teams. For example, Kentucky defeated LSU last year in their championship year and, in addition, they are undefeated this year as of yet. As for USC, they just lost to Oregon State!! Are you saying that Oregon State is that much better than Oregon? And lastly, I picked Texas to be beaten rather than winning. SUre, perhaps it is a bit of a long shot but so was Oregon State beating USC.

Really it does not matter to me if you wish to add additional teams to the list. In fact, I don't see what it matters so long as we are all predicting the same games. If anyone wants to add a game or two have at it!!!
So I would agree with you on your three games that you picked. NC, Utah, and ND will be winners.
Everyone pick a winner from these three so we will all be predicting the same games!!
The tallies are in!! Marauder, Shortcircuit, and Smookie are all in a tie with 7 wins. As for myself, I have a bit of catching up to do at only 4 wins.
I feel somewhat vindicated for my suggestion that the Alabama vs. Kentucky game would NOT be a blow out as well as the Boston College vs. NC, however, both Texas teams were spot on in terms of the spread. I just can't believe I chose both to loose. 😳 As for picking Colorado over Texas, my thinking was that Texas might be looking ahead to Oklahoma as well as playing an away game against a somewhat decent team. As for Texas Tech, however, I have no defense. I must not be as reckless regarding my picks. Its time to get serious now. ðŸ˜
Edit: I will try to do a better job regarding next weeks pick in terms of parity.

The Big Ten was my downfall; I just don't do well picking minor league football. Nebraska did fall a bit short of upsetting Missouri though.😞
Originally posted by no1marauderOh, so we can add games of our own to boost our records...sort of like extra credit?? You are a piece of work. You got lucky that Vandy came back to offset your Nebraska pick.

Originally posted by shortcircuitWhy not? I posted my picks in those games well in front of when the games were played; two matched Top 25 teams in what looked like competitive games and the other was BCS bound Notre Dame. Since when is whodey the infallible judge of what games are important? Anyway, he admitted the games were worth picking and did post picks regarding them. That you were too lazy or too uninformed to do so is your problem; you posted in the thread after the my picks were put in.
