I suggest you read my second to last post and follow the first link. I was not aware that being on the BCS Committee was required before someone could devise a playoff plan.
Although I agree with what you've said about what's going on, I don't think you should talk down to others the way you have.
Especially in this silly forum.
I don't understand; are you suggesting that the BCS Bowl games be filled up with teams that already lost in the playoffs?
Yes. I fail to see why this is an issue for you. At the moment the other BCS bowl games are filled by teams that have already lost the right to play for the MNC.
As for studying during December, you might want to tell that to the bowls that are played in December.
Smookie,
He can't help it. That's the just way he is. If you don't agree with him, you are an idiot. In this case I find it rather amusing, especially when he was making the claim that ND had a good chance of making a BCS bowl this year. He's a complete idiot, but knows everything in his own mind.
Originally posted by EladarI realize you never went to college but I suggest you find the dates for the bowl games in December and the dates for finals week in most universities. You'll find rather unsurprisingly that they don't conflict.

Integrating the bowl games into the playoff system is a lot more logical and doable than creating a separate system which makes the bowls even more meaningless.
Keep lying; I never claimed ND had a "good chance" of making the BCS and you know it. This "complete idiot" is 115-26 in predicting the results of college games this year while you do a lot of running yer mouth, but very little predicting. Guess your ballsz are a little too small for that, you loudmouth punk.

I realize you never played a down of football in your life so I'll cut you some slack. You see, football teams spend most of their time practicing. If you are going to play a game in two weeks, you aren't going to say "no practice due to finals".
As a mater of fact, football players have actually leaned how to go to class, go to practice and study all during the same day. It is rather amazing, but true.
Once again you demonstrate that you haven't a clue about what you are babbling about.

Look at their schedule and tell me what games they are likely to lose, wiseass. http://msn.foxsports.com/cfb/teamSchedule?categoryId=86126
Michigan was probably their toughest opponent (except for USC, of course) and they won handily.
You thought that ND wasn't likely to lose any game this year, except USC.
You make an idiotic statement, then call me a wiseass for disagreeing with you. I suppose in your dream world you never said what I quoted.

Like most everybody, I didn't expect Michigan to be as bad as they turned out. Hindsight is nice (it's all you ever do) but the Wolverines were touchdown favorites against Utah (now #6 in the BCS) and Notre Dame.

The idea of a December playoff system is a non-starter.

Finals are just a test. If you learned what you were supposed to learn during the semester, you don't have to cram for your finals. I graduated from college a while back. As I mentioned earlier, I also played football in college. It was division II, but college football all the same.
Of course the play-off could start the play off Dec 18. That would be the Saturday before the first bowl game which is on Monday Dec 20. Follow that up with either a game on the 24th or 26th, both of which have bowl games.

Division II has a 16 team playoff system but oddly enough they don't start it in December. In fact, this year the Championship game is on December 13th and, like every year, is before Finals week.
Having the semi-final games on or around Christmas would be a surefire way to reduce TV ratings and attendance. Brilliant idea.
