OU has been ranked higher than Texas in the coaches poll, then goes into Stoolwater and beats OSU. If Texas jumps OU in the coaches poll or even gains ground on points, then something is wrong. It is purely politics and has nothing to do with football.
When Tech beat Texas, Texas lost all rights to claim a head to head. The head to head claim would ha ...[text shortened]... orange glasses are mighty thick. But you've displayed this fact many times in this thread.
Texas, not OU, faced FOUR top 10 ranked teams in a row in a 4 week span and won three of them, with the only loss to Tech, in Lubbock, in the last seconds of the game. Then they beat the hell out of Baylor (who nearly upset Tech yesterday), and followed that up with a whipping of Kansas in Lawerence (the same Kansas who beat Missouri - North division champ yesterday and the same Missouri that Texas thoroughly embarrassed on national TV).
Texas also beat OU, head to head 45-35 in Dallas ..... enough said. OU beats Tech....in NORMAN. Mighty thin line you are trying to walk.
Stoops should change his name to "stumps" if they pull this off.
Typical OU. They can't get the job done themselves, so they start whining for help.
How is Texas any different? I guess this is typical for Texas too.

How many of those teams are still in the top 10? Missouri was over rated. OSU was over rated. OU was leading in that game, but didn't have a reserve ready when a key player went down. Tech beat you guys.
I know Texas fans would like to pretend that Texas beat Tech, but Tech won that game. Texas lost.

A mighty thin line? Here is an interesting read:

In any case, my point is that OU should not lose any votes after defeating OSU in Stoolwater. OU was the higher ranked team going into this week. OU defeated a much better opponent. OU played away. OU beat OSU away by more points than Texas beat OSU at home.
You can call that thin line reasoning if you like, but I think most people would disagree with you.
Edit:
Mack falls short:
OU #2 in Coaches poll.

Tell me how come Florida should have been jumped by Texas. They destroyed Florida State who is a much better team than A&M.

Not being a fan of either, it's a tough call. I think Oklahoma will probably get the nod, but if it gets flipped I can see why; the Sooners just aren't very good defensively.

1 point separated Oklahoma and Texas. I suspect Texas was helped by the BCS situation; everybody knows that if Florida beats Alabama they'll go to the BCS Championship. But there seem to be some coaches who changed their vote to try to get Texas rated above Oklahoma and thus win the Big 12 South tiebreaker. This bodes ill for the Sooners in the writer's poll.
But there seem to be some coaches who changed their vote to try to get Texas rated above Oklahoma
Politics. Agreements made behind closed doors since no one will see these votes. No one will see the votes from the earlier weeks. It appears that this is what college football is all about.
It worked for Mack in the past, it appears to be working for Mack at the moment. Any true sports fan should be sickened by what they are seeing.

Head to head...deal with it OU!! OU lost.
If you want to play the head to head card, then Tech has to play for the Big XII championship game instead of Texas.
Head to head, deal with it. Texas lost.
But you won't, you'll repeat the Big Lie that this is a two way run for the Big XII championship game instead of a three way tie.
