Do not listen to Arrakis. He's complicating things to try to show off his knowledge about all things computer related. Most of the crap he's talking about is completely irrelevant.
Kalsen could be onto something. I had a similar problem with my ISP before. But, before you ring them, can you log into any sites that you have to put in a username and password for? Apart from RHP.

If it's just secure sites, try this;
In Internet Explorer, select TOOLS > INTERNET OPTIONS Click on the SECURITY tab, and then DEFAULT LEVEL Click on the ADVANCED tab, and then RESTORE DEFAULTS.

All of a sudden on Friday, my hotmail account has ceased functioning. Whenever I go to my inbox, I get the dreaded "Page Not Found" message. Also to my extreme annoyance, I am not able to send my turnfiles in my Medieval Diplomacy or Napoleonic Empires games. I'm using an old Pentium II with not a lot of memory (128) but I've never had this problem befor ...[text shortened]... phone coompany (Verizon). Any of you computer nerds have any idea what the hell is going on?
Originally posted by GalaxyShieldIn the thread, I already installed the latest version of IE since the problem started. No luck. I'm no computer whiz, but the figures I gave before don't seem to indicate that the system has insufficient resources left to function properly.

Originally posted by sonhouseMy DSL modem is hooked directly to my computer. A few days ago I did switch from a router back to the modem (I had been letting someone else access the internet from their computer using my account). Could that cause a problem? Should I uninstall the Router program or whatever?
I think you mentioned having a router hooked up to DSL.
I have had trouble with my router basically from day one.
One thing I would try if you do use one is to take the output directly
from the DSL modem, just hook up the main computer to it so its
by itself. Then try your hotmail again, see if it works. If it does, you
know its the router causing some problem TBD.
Originally posted by no1marauderHuh, that's pretty weird then. I'm guessing it would have to be the service provider then or something is wrong with the computer itself (like a virus or something) that's blocking info from going out. I've had a lot of internet problems but usually nothing like that, I sometimes get can't find page warnings but I usually just close the window and open a new one and it works. The only thing I've had that sounds close to yours is when my modem died, or right before it died that is, it wasn't sending stuff but could still use a few things I think, like messengers.

You've been a true fountain of useless info; I know that. Never heard of WinRaR; had Winzip for a trial period. Don't use zip files enough to make it worth buying.
Originally posted by no1marauderquick side note: WinZip is free (well sort of). You download it for the trial period, then after 40 (?) days it'll ask you if you want to register the product. Just click 'no' every time and you can continue using it forever.

WinRar is the same deal.

Done. Didn't help. I'll look at the site.
For some reason I assumed you were using XP,so as mentioned above this could call for a different approach.
Look to see if, when you click About Internet Explorer on the Help menu, the Cipher Strength value is 0-bit.
If that is the case, have a read of this one.
