Tried, no dice.
- installed a new firewall
- allowed your anti-virus system to update
- allowed Microsoft to install updates
- allow Microsoft to install their new security program
- updated a spyware program

I assume that it's not a coincidence that I can't get into my hotmail account, can't upload the file to the game GM and can't post or PM anything more than a couple paragraphs. But I'm too computer illiterate to figure out how they could be possibly linked.
Would it be possible to post your files from a different e-mail-address, or does it have to be the same address you have used before?

Go on no1marauder 😉

Cannot find server or DNS Error

Thats Internet Explorer 6 Service Pack 1. It will take a bit of space more than whats already been taken. Its not gonna cause any additional problems, it just the latest of most plugins and tools. Might fix the DNS error.
Originally posted by no1marauderI wonder if it's your internet connection which isn't working very well at the moment. I sometimes have that happen. It will result in failure to load pages, and error messages like you describe. If the connection hasn't failed entirely (yours obviously hasn't), it may help to simply try again.

Edit: If you are using Windows, you probably have a symbol for the internet connection in the bar at the bottom of the screen. You can see when the connection is active. When I have problems with my connection, I can see that the computer is trying to connect (the left screen in the symbol lights up), but can't (the right screen remains dark).
Originally posted by no1marauderAh, the symptons you give would indicate the possibility that your system is running out of memory. It's not clear to me if you are running out of virtual memory or RAM.
No. I also can't seem to post or PM anything more than a couple of paragraphs.
To fix low memory problems check the following in this order:
1) Windows uses virtual memory to buffer data to the hard drive when you do not have enough RAM (random access memory) to handle the demands.
Solution:
- check the space on your hard drive against the space Windows reserves for virtual memory. If you don't have a lot of extra space on your hard drive then Windows will not be able to function when it trys to buffer the data to the virtual memory space. The solution here is to buy a bigger hard drive or erase enough data to allow Windows virtual memory to function.
2) Sometimes programs can not run if there is not enough RAM to handle the processes. Even though Windows can buffer much of the data by writing it to the hard drive (mentioned above), if the buffer space is inadequate OR if the process of buffering the data takes too long, you will receive an error message.
Solution:
Assuming there is enough hard drive space and the system is fast enough to buffer it, then you need to add more RAM memory in the computer. It should be noted that if the hard drive were in need of defragmentation, that this could slow system buffering down to a level that could cause errors during internet connection.
In other words, delete any unnecessary files and run the defragmentation program.
Heiden recommended running system restore to go back to a date where the system worked. This is a good idea *if* the reason the system is no longer working is because of undesireable changes in the operating system, virus infection or spyware infection. However, if your problem is due to the items suggested above, it will return.

The connection has timed out
The server at www.mozilla.org is taking too long to respond.
So I deleted it. Unfortunately, it wanted to be my default browser and I can't figure out how to change it back to IE so none of my favorites work now. Can you help me with that NEW problem?
EDIT: Nevermind; I got it back to IE as the default browser.
