yea, I was surprised about it too. usually the director's cuts and other nonsense just make the films worse. I suppose I liked it more because the original was more of your average box office hit war film, where as in the redux the war seemed almost irrelevant.
the redux could've happened on the late 19th century congo river just as well. 🙂

As someone who actually read the comics at the time the Symbiote first appeared, i have to say that i thought the film was great. Peter was portrayed as a bit of a douche, which i suppose he was (i haven't seen the other two movies), but that was kinda annoying......Hucks quick review......Cool film, the guy from the 70s show played a cool character, apart from the sickly sweet bits the effects rocked.
Must see if you remember the first Secret wars. (or were reading comics at that time).
